I heard about this site as I was channel surfing. I'm hoping this is just what I need.

I've had a weight problem my whole life. I've lost large amounts of weight several times, the most being 108 about 10 years ago. I'm still holding 28 of it off. But those 80 snuck back on. And if I don't do something, the other 28 will get lonely and try to hop back on as well! I just can't seem to mentally get back "in the zone" that I was in when I lost all the weight ~10 years ago. My recent addiction to "The Biggest Loser" has 'sparked' (puns always intended!) a greater desire to initiate effort. Though I suspect watching "The Biggest Loser" while eating potato chips isn't the best method!

So, here I am. And hoping I'll stick to this! Words of encouragment and inspiration are always welcome!! (and hopefully one day, I can encourage and inspire someone else)

An update as of 6/11/08: I've been sparking for nearly 3 months now. Accomplishments (so far) that I'm most proud of: I have lost 2.5% body FAT and I am now, finally, off my blood pressure medication! Yay me!

9/22/08 UPDATE: Slacking off. As per my usual weight loss pattern. Weighed myself yesterday. I'm down to half a pound before my halfway mark. Sounds good, right? But that means I lost one whole pound the past month. Sad. But I'm telling myself that wasn't bad considering I wasn't trying much, if at all. And now I'm back to trying, so the pounds will be flying off shortly, right? Let's hope. The important thing is that I haven't given up. I'll say it again. I haven't given up. One more time, but louder: I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP!!

I'm here to change my life! I will FINALLY take off this weight for the FINAL time. I will eat healthy, look healthy and be healthy. And FEEL healthy.


My Program:
Just taking a bunch of small steps to get to the big goal! Right now exercise 4 days a week, hope to increase in frequency, duration and intensity. And make healthy food choices - taking portion control into consideration at all times!
