Like to garden, hike, collect stuff, volunteer and love water sports.
My goal is to control my eating, eat for health, not take in sugar. To exercise 5 days a week to the level of losing weight.
Exercising, to feel good and strong.
Remembering to eat two fruits, 4 cups vegs, 1 yogurt, 8 oz protein, 2 starches a day..distributed out evenly throughout the day. Drinking 80 oz a water a day. Trying to cut down on coffee. Limiting my wine to one day a week.
Being around happy people to keep my spirits up.

I have lived in the state of Washington all my 66 years. Four grown children, and four grandchildren. Divorced after 25 years...married for the second time last March 15th.
I volunter at a thrift store to help children in need. A master gardner, garden club member, homemakers club. My husband and I both are active square dancers. Have collected my share of antique furnature, glassware, pottery..etc. In a club called "Fun, Fit, and Over Fifty"...I kayak, canoe, hike, and bike with them. Also I am a weight recorder at TOPS here in Kennewick, WA.
Last year I lost 32 pounds. Now I must truge on to lose 10 pounds more.
I enjoy my 12 year old Dachshund...having lost her 1/2 brother and her mother at ages 13 years.

Well, with fall in the air and the summer coming to an end. I know for myself its time to get back to indoor activities and allowing all of you to become my mentors again. I am not good at being an indoor person in the summer as my Garden, Canning and other activities keep me very busy.
So!! After September I plan to involve myself more on the Daily Chat message boards. There is no better support than what we all give each other to help us reach our goals.

Also, concentrate on mastering your three 'Fast Break' goals: drinking 8 cups of water per day, going for a walk, not eating in front of the TV...whatever three goals you have chosen. Hey Kids, thanks for the thoughts.
Sandy, I had my 6 week check up and am "healed up and haired over", so I am set to resume my activities. Your pages inspire me, thank you.
On September 6th, I leave from Anacortes for a 7 day sail boat trip. It is with a club I belong to called, "Fun, Fit, and Over Fifty". My husband does not want to go, and he tells me that I need to practice hanging over the side of the boat to upright it. It will be a thrill for me to take this trip with 8 other people who are very enthusiastic. There will be 8 people on the 2nd boat.
I'm dragging my feet about going back to work at Costco....mainly because the last 2 hours of my shift are murder on my feet.
Sharon loves working for the WA Parks Department, and is a good soul. Tell her 'hello' for me....she knows me at Barbara Richards (my last married name then). Now I am LaPrath.
My daughter treated me to a pedicure last evening. I had little flowers put on my big toes....now I must wear sandals to show off my toes. For 2 months she, her 17 year old son, big dog, and small cat lived with us. She has for the first time in her life purchased a home...yipee!

Hey I was just thinking of you today. I went to Costco day before yesterday and saw several servers there, are you still doing that or did you give it up?
I started at Sacagawea Park last Monday and so far so good. I helped Sharon redo the book and gift area as it was in disarray. I am going back on Monday and then I should have a set schedule. Heritage days are coming up at the end of September, that should be fun.

How are you feeling. I have thought about you a lot lately and did not want to disturb you. I thought you could use your rest. Is everything healing properly?
I just finished my yearly and every thing is good. The doctor is happy with my lifestyle.
Once this weather settles down maybe we can get the team together again for a walk.
