Difficult things take a long time, impossible things a little longer

I'm 43 and I'm just trying to age gracefully, which includes living a healthier lifestyle. I've got more than 100 pounds to lose so I'll be here for a while. I used to dream about being really thin and really sexy. Now I dream about being able to walk up a flight of stairs and still dance when I'm 50. lol.

I'm a recent empty nester and it's confusing. Some days I'm so ecstatic and filled with so much joy at my new start in life and sometimes I miss my son so much I just cry all ...

My Goals:
To finally embrace a healthy, realistic lifestyle that sticks. Learn to forgive myself and stop doing things for other people at the expense of my own well being.

My Program:
Under construction...

My goal is to be active three to four times a week.

Right now this includes various cardio including walking, swimming, zumba and boot camp and strength training. I'm not sure how much or how often. I'm trying to find a good balance.

Personal Information:
I'm a big nerd and I don't mind it a bit. I live in beautiful New Mexico and currently make my living as a writer.

I have one son who is headed to college. Emotionally that was something I had a hard time accepting. Some counseling and great friends helped me overcome the depression and anxiety I felt over his impending departure. This of course contributed to my weight struggle. Stress and anxiety is a huge trigger for me.

Other Information:
I love to read, I love being outside, I love crowds, I love to dance to really loud music, I love to laugh, I love hot and humid weather and I love the ocean.

I love my state and its people and my very large and awesome extended family.

I also have a large network of awesome friends all over the world. They make my life amazing.

Thanks so much for stopping by my page! I am so glad you're still around. So many friends have fallen off. I am just soo frustrated with the lack of progress. I mean, yes, I have lost weight, yay. But I would like to keep losing. lol. 29 days until weigh in. I'll see some progress.

I'm glad your son is settling in nicely. Hopefully he won't be as overwhelmed the longer he's in college. :) My daughter is adjusting wonderfully, but now she's talking about changing her major from pre-med to astro physics. *Face Palm* Kids!!

Thank you for the compliment on my pic. The hubby & I had fun that weekend. Everything has been hectic around here dealing with Mom's chemo, and now my youngest daughter is having issues. I had to take her to an allergist for a bazillion tests & now she's on 3 new meds & an nasal spray. Thankfully it's just temporary. Ugh though.
