I am a relatively recent college graduate getting adjusted to the trials and travails of a full-time, 9 to 5 office job. Though I do enjoy the work I do (student life at a university), I have found that the sedentary lifestyle I've suddenly inherited along with my job has led to some weight gain. I've also realized that I feel tired and stressed working full time and yet I'm still in my 20s! There are people I work with twice my age who seem to have more energy than I do and that has inspired me to change my life. I want to become fit and strong so I can conquer all my future goals, including continuing my education and having a family, while working. I am on this site to pursue the healthy lifestyle I've always wanted and believe I can attain.

My Goals:
Short term: I am currently in a 6 week challenge with my family. My goal is to stay at or under 1700 calories per day and to complete Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred (20 minutes of circuit training per day).

Long term: I would like to go from 185 lbs. to my goal weight of 159 lbs. by September 8, 2012.

My Program:
I am tracking my calories, water intake, steps taken, and cardio. I am using a pedometer app on my phone to keep an eye of how active I am during the day and to count my steps. I am using the Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD every morning to complete a 20 minute workout.

Thanks for the support! I am really happy with my progress and knowing that I can actually reach my goal. So many times I have tried and given up, this is the first time I have really felt consistant in what I am doing. Really I think because I feel so much better when I do it compared to before! I find the food tracker my biggest asset. Knowing that whatever I eat I have to put down stops me from those little nibbles that turn into a full out feast! Keep me posted on how things are going for you! Best of luck! emoticon

Hey! Thanks for your comment, it makes me feel a little better that I am not alone. I drank way too much and I am heavier but I think it is just my body retaining water. I feel nauseous today and rundown. I learned that the healthier I am the worse I feel when I partaaaayyy. LOL TTYS emoticon

Hi Laladevin, I noticed your page on one of the team pages and thought that we have a lot in common. I officially signed up for sparkpeople years ago but only really started on July 11th. I am finding it really motivating and am happy with the succcess I am getting, but I would love to have a person on here to share support with. Just wanted to say I think we are in very similar boats and best of luck!

Hey there!! I know how it is to go over my calorie goal. It makes me feel bad but it is easy to make up for it with exercise. That is what makes me feel better about it at least. LOL. Im doing okay lately. I am tracking my food and trying to stay honest on the tracker. Im taking a day off from exercising today because I am SORE and my muscles arent used to the strain so they have to heal. Yesterday I couldnt burn more than 220 calories cuz I was exhausted. I am sure that when I get used to it I wont get sore anymore but it is frustrating. Please check in soon and we can keep eachother posted! TTYS emoticon
