All Grace

2012 was the best of times and the worst of times. I got within two pounds of my goal but couldn't get there. Instead I am many, many pounds over that number as I look at 2013. So....instead of beating myself up and telling myself I am a failure I am leaning into victory and looking forward to achieving my goals this year.

I have read that a poor test result like cholesterol that is a little elevated or high triglycerides is your body trying to tell you that something needs to change in your diet or in what you are doing. Instead of just taking a pill, try to find out what it is that is causing the test result and fix it!

The doctors are not responsible for your health. You are responsible for your health and need to insist on the best care. Being informed about your condition is the key to getting better health care. Remember that you are the boss and the doctors work for you! You make the decision on what drugs to take and what foods to eat! I have had good doctors and bad ones in my life. Some I have had to fire and others have given me good advice. Doctors are overworked and don't have the time to devote to studying about your condition that you have. Learn and be healthy!

I congratulate you on the weight you have lost! You are obviously on the right path since you are losing weight. At 138 pounds, you have 18 pounds to go to get to your goal weight. When you lose the 18 pounds, your cholesterol may improve. Just a thought.
