Time to get off the couch, time to stop the eating compulsion, time to stop making excuses.

Time to make it all about me! Love myself, take care of myself, motivate myself and hopefully at the same time motivate others! If I can do this then I can love others and take care of others.

I originally joined Spark People back in 2007 and between then and May I lost a total of 40 pounds. It didn't take a year and I had gained most of that back. Now I am starting fresh again with a new goal in mind. It is not just about the weight loss, but about a healthier me.

I have been yo-yo'n back and forth for way to long. Going from 190 to 150, back to 180, down to 160. I loose all summer long and gain it all back during the winter. I am done with this back and forth stuff. I am changing everything for good. Next spring instead of seeing 180 or 190...I will see 140. Now that would be nice!

I really like the challenges posted by Spark Members. If a challenge comes along that does not match with me and my goals, I just make up a challenge of my own. Everyone on this site is an inspiration in their own right and I thank Spark People for it.


June 1st 180 LBS!- Walking everyday - a brisk walk, as far as a can comfortably as fast as I comfortably can. Started 1 mile.

June 28th - Walking everyday still, now I am up to almost 6 miles in 100 minutes flat. That is about a 16 minute mile. I would like to work on that time.


July 1st - 171 lbs! Walking everday still but incorporating it with bike riding, sometimes both in a day, sometimes just walking and sometimes just biking. My first bike trip was for about 6 miles.

Goals - to get walking 6 miles down to 80 minutes. That means I have to cut 20 minutes off my time this month. To add mileage when biking, would like to be at 10 miles or more by end of the month and I am going to incorporate some weight training in every other day!

JULY 22nd - Weigh In early for family reunion - Lost 5 more pounds. Total weight loss 14 lbs.

Weight - 166 lbs.

Still walking everyday. Sometimes outside, now sometimes on my neighbors treadmill. Weight training every other day and eating better.

End of the "Do You Measure Up in July" Challenge. I lost 5 lbs by July 22nd and 7 total inches around my body on July 31st!

AUGUST CHALLENGE- won't be weighing in until August 31st. So far I have accomplished something I thought would never happen. 55 minutes on my elliptical. I have had that thing for over 3 years and have never been able to do more than 20! YEAH! Look for the blogs everyday in the August Challenge for my progress.

Today is August 24th. I am now doing a full 60 minutes on my elliptical and going over 6 miles. On average it is about a 10 minute mile. Weigh in day will be interesting this month. Hope I do well!

August weigh in: 160 pounds!!!!!! 5.36 INCHES!

Total loss so far 20 lbs. and just under 18 inches gone! I am almost halfway to my goal weight!!!!

Personal Information:
I grew up in New York (not the city) but haven't lived there in over 10 years. I have been happily married for 15 years and have three children. I had an "office" job for a long time and that is where a lot of my weight came from. Snacking on crap while at my desk. I went back to being a stay at home mom but now I working again in the legal field.

My favorite book - Too many to name, I am a huge lover of books, but lately I have been reading a lot of Dean Koontz.

Again too many to name! That is the hardest question because I have lists of favorite movies for all genres.

    Glad to know you're still breathing LOL! I've been super busy too again lately - I'm teaching 7 5th & 6th grade science classes this week and have logged more than 600 miles since Monday - sadly not on the treadmill. In fact, I am going to go change into some workout clothes & head to the post office & the gym (for the first time in a week) right now. No challenges going on at the moment, but hopefully after the holidays (can you believe they're almost here - I booked my flight home this week) we can kick some butt.
