‎"Many of lifes failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." --Thomas Edison

HI, My name is Laura, im 26 now and have been over weight my entire life. I'm tired of not feeling good , my knees are crap and my back hurts all the time now. Im approaching my heaviest again. And its time to finally conquer this. I'm starting this journey at 289.4lbs. My goal is to be 150lb. But that could change as I get closer to a healthier wieght. Its more about being healthy and feeling good to me than what I weigh. I dont want my daughter to go through life like I did. I'm stopping the cycle now.

2/18/11 113lbs lost. Well from about the end of november until now I have been losing and regaining the same 5lbs. I think I just gave up all together on my food and couldn't find the motivation to try harder. I let the excuse of"well i'm still keeping up on my exercise so its ok" rule my life. my winter blues are over and its time to jump into spring. I'm finally ready to get serious about this again . Not just to lose the weight I have left to lose but to get back on the road to healthy again.
11/10/10 102lbs lost. To say I have lost 100lbs feels awesome. To say i have lost 100lbs for 3 weeks straight not so awesome. After losing 100 my scale has been stuck. Self sabotage has been my worst enemy. I've slacked on my food horribly. But i have kept up on my exercise so im still staying active. I've decided to play around with my ticker and try setting it to the 37lbs I have left to lose. Maybe starting at the beginning will jump start me again.

8/16/10 If you see conflicting weights on pictures its because I purchased a new scale. This scale weighed me 2lbs heavier. I adjusted my starting weight so that the amount I have lost reflects correctly as well.

Update: 55lbs down! I work out pretty much every day now. I am doing moves I never thought possible of my body. I feel like a healthy person just carrying around some baggage. I dont wake up feeling fat anymore. I feel like just me and when I look in the mirror im ok with what I see. Its only going to get better!

10/2/2011 Well In June I managed to get down to my lowest of 157 and it all went down hill from there. I gained a little over the month maintaining 165 or less. Then I found out my mom was moving to Georgia and the stress bug made me do awful things. I gained a little more. Then The end of of July we found out I was pregnant and expecting our 2nd child. And although I was excited that it only took us 1 try to accomplish something that would have taken years when I weighed 290lbs I lost my way with my healthy lifestyle. I let stress and pregnancy symptoms be an excuse to pretty much eat junk for the past 2 months. And the result has been a 25lb gain from my lowest. But Im going to start setting goals again, im going to maintain this weight as long as I can. Im going to keep my skinny pics up to remind me that at some point I will get back to that and be even better. I did it once I can do it again. My goals are attainable. I will not be defeated.

!0/18/2012 6 months after Having my son I am finally ready to buckle down and get this weight off! my first 30 day goal is 15lbs and 3 days a week at the gym. I can do this! Consistency is the key!

Kudos to you for joining us here on the Raw Foodies Team. This will be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Sparkers come here and join this great team for a multitude of reasons. They may be curious about the health benefits of Raw Food and join to learn all about eating Raw. Many join for the weight loss. Many join the Team for a Detox. There are a great many people who do the Raw Food Diet as a Detox but then they realize how alive they feel and how the pounds melted away so effortlessly they decide to continue to eat this way. There are others who will join this Team for the health benefits of a Raw Food Diet. A diet based on raw food can reverse diabetes, arthritis (I personally have experienced this. I went off all of my arthritis meds after only a few weeks), heart disease, cancer (that is how I became involved with the Raw Food Diet when my sister was diagnosed with Lymphoma), eliminates migraines, the list goes on and on.

So join us and learn how to make the transition from SAD (Standard American Diet) to a healthy Raw Food Diet. You will be happy you did!
