I enjoy cooking, reading, and traveling. I believe that fresh, interesting cooking can be healthy, but sometimes it can be challenging. I'm looking for inspiration to stay active, get in shape, and prepare foods that will best nourish my mind and body.
I'd love to get healthier in general, but honestly, I just need to lose WEIGHT! I love "whole food" cooking, using fresh, local, seasonal ingredients.
I am going to track my calories and plan my meals in advance as much as possible. I belong to wonderful gym that I have been neglecting, so I am also going to make that a (hopefully) daily habit.
I am a teacher in Memphis, but I'm originally from Georgia. I'm in my early 30s and married with 2 spoiled rotten dogs, Laila, and 11-year-old Dalmatian, and Woody, an 8-year-old terrier mixed breed.
I love to read and, unfortunately, watch TV. My favorite books include The Godfather, Gone With the Wind, The Historian, A Confederacy of Dunces, Lonesome Dove, and pretty much any British literature. My favorite TV shows are currently Mad Men, the Office, The Tudors, True Blood, and reality food shows (The Next Food Network Star, Top Chef).
