This is my journey and I'm determined to finish what I started!!!

Hey I'm 26 years old I piled on over 50 lbs of weight and I'm ready to rid myself of it. Btw I'm 5'11 I've noticed a lot of people like to know how tall you are along with how much pounds you weigh. When I first joined Sparkpeople in 2010 I weighed 231 lbs. With the help of sparkpeople I managed to get down to 207 lbs. I was on my way to rediscovering myself again, but then it all came undone. I was battling clinical depression, a bad break-up, and a really tough time. Needless to say here I am once again tipping the scale at a whopping 235 lbs. I know that with all of the resources, support, and information this site offers I will reach my goal this time.
My short term goal is to be 210 by my birthday which is 9/18.

Starting weight: 235
Current weight: 227 (June 22)

Other Information:
My two favorite movies of all time has to be both oldies but goodies... Imitation of Life & Westside Story.
Favorite singer: Jennifer Hudson. I admire her she's been through so much and dealt with so much lost but she's made it through it all! Makes me believe that if she can do it so can I. Recently she's even became my thinspiration after going from a size 16 (my current size) to a size 6. Remarkable woman!

man that is a killer deal on gym fees, i would give any thing to have a gym like that where i live. i think the ymca here ask for $50 a month for a family membership. i figured why give them my money when i can pick up some weights at a hard sale and just work out with fit tv or something. :)

is it just a local community gym? unfortunately all the gyms around where i live are big franchise ones that will cost you an arm and a leg to be a member of, like YMCA and any time fitness. and for people on a tight financial budget like me, i just can't swing the membership fees.
which is another thing i don't get, if society is so concerned now with obesity in youth and adults, then why is every one still trying to turn a buck from it? between diets books, diet programs, and gym membership fees its a wonder any one has the money to be fit. thats the good thing about this site though :) no one is going to charge you any thing for getting the tools you need to help yourself.
