Boy, this is hard, at least harder then I thought. You know the adage that you can't fix a problem unless you admit there is a problem. Well, it is easy to admit the truth and know what it takes to fix it in my head and heart. But to put it down in writing and out there for others to see...thats the hard thing to admit.
I was once a healthy 5-9, 160 pound woman (once I got control of my eating disorders), who was very active. Two kids later, I had gained 40 pounds that I just couldn't seem to get rid of, not that I really cared.
I could make all sorts of excuses, but it really comes down to laziness and binge eating. I always had excuses why I didn't excersise, why I needed to binge. But what do those matter right now? Can't change what happened, but I can change what is now.
Well, 15 years after the birth of my 1st child, I found myself 300 pounds and diabetic. Things have spiraled down since then. Granted, I have lost 25 pounds since I got ill, but the cost was high. I now have diabeties, high blood pressure, edema, fybromyalgia, chronic infections (boils/abcesses/thrush, I am a walking petri dish), GERD, chronic back pain, gout, and heart trouble, just to mention a few.
Three heart attacks, chair bound, depressed, hating the world in general and on disability, I decided it is time to help myself. Nobody can change me.
I keep forgotten to add it on here. I am no longer chair bound. I can get around my house on my own. I can shower without a chair or help any more. Use a cane to get around outside. And can do 5 mins on the treadmill everyday.
I just noticed that I haven't changed my age since I started on SP. Since I started with SP, I am now 45 1/2 and a grandmother.
My main goal, to get healthier or as healthy as I can get.
Other goal...figure out how to use hubby's scanner so I can upload my disgusting fat pics.
Easy, eating less, eating healthier and moving more.
Hi, I am Anne. I am 44 and live in Nebraska. I am originally from Oklahoma, born and raised. Having grown up in the military and being a military wife, I have lived all over the US.
I have 4 wonderful cats that were feral rescues. 2 daughters (21 & 16) and 1 stepdaughter (21).
I know how to eat healthy and would do more of it if I can get hubby past the "meat & potato" thing.
cooking, cooking and more cooking. Bad part, I don't really like to eat once I am finished (eat during) or clean it all up.
Having spent most of my adult life working in kitchens. I have perfected the art of copying other peoples food.
