Today is March 26 2011, and I have just noticed that this is an introduction block.......SIGH!! Well my name is Rudo, I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, I am a wife and mother of 5 wonderfuls kids, 2 biological and 3 step. My weight loss journey started in my late 20s when I steadily started gaining . As a teenager and into my early 20s I was very active, I played tennis and field hockey in school, and tennis in college. Reaching 25 was my weight turning point, and by the time I was married I was in the upper 100s. I entered the 200s 3 months after being married in 2003, and have been there ever since.
After my second baby and moving to VA, I was 17lbs from being 300lbs EISH!!! I looked back and I wondered where I was when I was gaining all this weight, I felt like I had checked out and somebody else had taken over my body. I didn't remember eating to so much that rationalized all this weight that I had gained, and I kept hearing my mom telling me I was gaining too much wieght, and that heart disease was heriditary in my family so I had to lose weight, And I finally realized that with all my failed attempts and excuses, I was tired of being tired, and it was REALLY time for me to start participating in this journey.
Not only am I a willing participant now, and I am enjoying the ride.
