Lady Losing

I have done two major roller coasters with my weight over the last ten yeras and I'm really TIRED of my current, highest weight. I lost some weight at the beginning of 2012 but gained it all back. My goal is to get it off and keep it off this time. With the help of Jillian Michaels, I'm trying to shred and rip my way to a weight that makes me confident!

66 DAYS OF JILLIAN
(4 times a week, Shred and Ripped Mixture)

NOTE: As of today (11 Dec 2012), I've already had to take a couple days off of my plan because my back was hurting. I think I may have pushed too hard on Level 2 of the Shred and/or used weights that were too heavy for the back exercises. Regardless, I subbed some other low impact activities and am really trying to maintain a 4 days of exercise per week. It may take longer than planned -- I had hoped to be through this by the very beginning of March 2013 -- but I'll get through it and I look forward to seeing my progress.

[ ] 60 pounds gone!

[ ] Wearing a size 12 today!

[ ] Wearing a size 8 today!

I'd like to lose weight but I'm focused on my size. I think my ideal weight gets me into a size 8 (currently, I'm a 14-16) so that's my goal. I realize that sizes can be different from brand to brand and probably even from year to year as our society gets more and more obsessed with skinny minnies, but I've kept a lot of my "skinny" clothes that I'd like to fit into again.

My Program:
I'm using a combination of Jillian Michaels' videos 4 days a week: 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30. I have her other videos and will use them sporadically and/or after this first few months.

I'm also trying to have one or two longer cardio circuits each weekend.

And of course, I'm watching what I eat. No soda, limited dairy, limited bread and pasta, portion control on meat, healthy breakfast, lots of water, very limited alcohol consumption.

Personal Information:
I'm 5'8" and curvy. Wish I was a little less jell-O-y. :D

Actually, I am a lot like you with the weighing in issue. If it is good, I feel like i can take it easy, or bad, I feel like I'm not succeeding. But I'm getting better!

I saw your feed about back pain. Are you still doing the Jillian videos? I have a history of low back pain & had a hard time with the Jillian videos causing more problems! Not sure if that's the same for you or not.

I read your past few blogs & want to encourage you to get back to tracking your food. I think it's a real pain, but I think it's the first step to weight loss. I haven't had a lot of success yet, but I'm just starting to faithfully track my food intake.

Also, if you are concerned with goals, why not start with a 5% weight loss over a couple months. That should provide slow, steady loss and prevent burnout.

I too recently had a talk with my hubby about my weight. He had no idea how terrible my self image has become. Ah, made me love him so much more! Good hubby's are the best!

I broke down and weighed in. I'm going to talk about it in my blog, but sorry for letting you down. I decided a bad result would ruin my birthday, so going back to what's worked for me. I'm sorry SparkFriend!

Thanks for the blog comment!

I will tell you, it feels AWESOME to know that I'm getting healthier and losing. It has slowed down a little (I'm okay with it) and I know it will get even harder to lose the rest that I want to, but I'm okay with that.

I HATE HATE HATE to weigh myself, because the number is just such a tough thing to deal with if it doesn't reflect the work I feel I am putting in. I usually do once a month. I did sign up for the next challenge (summer 5% of bodyweight challenge) so during that time I will be weighing in once a week.

I have to give myself pep talks a lot with weigh-ins. I tell myself walking to the scale that there are many reasons it might not reflect what I want and that I WILL keep going regardless because I want to be healthy and strong and fit. I tell myself that it doesn't matter, because I want these changes to last my life, not be temporary.

Lastly, I TOTALLY love your background with the zombies. I laugh, and think it is awesome!
