E's Journey Towards Well-being

I am a 24 year-old female with a tendency to herniate discs in my back. Since my health problems began at the end of high school, I have gone from my competitive-swimmer weight of 145 to 205, and now to my current weight of 189 in the past 4-5 years or so. Since my health problems began at the end of high school, I have gone from my competitive-swimmer weight of 145 to 205, and now to my current weight of 189 in the past 4-5 years or so. I was able to drop 20 pounds on Weight Watchers (online tools only) during my freshman year of college, but haven't been able to get into a healthy lifestyle since then. My weaknesses are not necessarily junk foods, but too-large portions of savory foods such as soups and sandwiches, and set meals called "teishoku" in Japan. I am currently living and working in Fukuoka, Japan. I am encouraged by how healthy most Japanese people are, but it is still hard being such a big foreigner in a country where the women are so tiny. But I musn't compare myself to them- this is for me!

Welcome to the Swimming for Cardio Team! Swimming is a great conditioner for issues like PCOS. It sounds like you are a former swimmer looking to get back in the pool, and that's great!

Come join us on our daily thread and let us get to know you better.
