Knowing your body gives you the power to change it, maintain it, decorate it, and strengthen it.

I'm starting over - January 1. It is cliche, I know. But, the greatest fitness and weight loss success I ever achieved in the past was through Spark so I'm back! This time, I hope to figure out how to make it 'stick' for a lifetime. I suspect not neglecting exercise will be key! :-)

My Goals:
I have a big goal, but I only want to weigh once a week at most- I am changing my focus from the scale to 'how my body feels'



My Program:
8 glasses of water, per day & 8 hours of sleep.

Fitness: walking 5x a week.

Mindful movement & meditation 30 minutes M-F.

Personal Information:
Married 24 years, no children.
I finished my college degree May 2012 and then planned to take a year off to rest. It took longer than I thought to get a job, but I'm back working at the university where I graduated. I'm grateful to have a routine again!

Other Information:
I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking & baking. I'm not athletic, but maybe I will be as a lighter person. I do love the outdoors, and especially the water - lakes, springs, ocean .. all of it. I used to enjoy camping, and will again!

It was nice today. We seen to get one nice day and then 6 bad ones but the nice days keep me sane. It was 57, sunny, and little wind. I loved it. Hubby and I went for a walk and sat by the pond in the swing. So nice!

Thank you for the comment on my blog post. It feels funny to be called a role model; I don't *feel* like one when I've lost 30,40, even 70 pounds and regained it all (and then some). However I am more confident than ever that I have found an eating plan I can follow long-team to sustain the weight loss this time. Low-carb has been a real game-changer!

Still going to always need to be on the lookout for emotional eating, but I think I'm more aware of that challenge and even being more open with people about it. Step one is having the support of my great SP buddies like you!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. How fun for you to find those notes from diets past! I wonder if someone in the future will find evidence of our weight-loss attempts and giggle.
