I have been a member for 5 years as of April. I have had a weight problem all the way back to my teenage years. It was about when I was 13 years old when my dad reminded me, "If you keep eating like that you will have weight problems." I didn't want to believe him. I happened just like he said. I wieghted about 135 pounds back then. I got up to 314 pounds before I worked hard at taking it off. I was about 27 or 28 years old when the love of my life came around. It was then that I worked hard on taking the pounds off. That was for all the wrong reasons I found out. I lost 179 pounds in about 2 and a half years. Then a baby came along and the pounds kept adding up. I was 30 years old when she came along and it has been a battle to get the pounds off from that day on. I try diet after diet and you know how it goes after that. I have been on SparkPeople for 5 years now and the pounds go up and down. As I make friends on here I see that maybe I have not hit the bottom yet. This year I'm working on loving myself and takeing the interest in carrying for myself. With that I'm eating healthy foods and trying different exercises that interest me. One that I have found enjoyable is fishing with my husband. I do more walking each week and enjoy the things around me. I now have a puppy that keeps me moving too. We get are walk in almost every day. Exercise is the new thing for me to focus on this year. It is now 2009 and the weight has been coming off with love for myself. I forgot about diet and focus on eating healthy. I watch how much sugar and fat intake also. I'm now adding exercises for my hip and back pain from a physical therapist help. That is doing wonders for me. I also go to the jacussi pool with the physical therapist assistance. Things are going great. I 2008 I lost a total of 39 pounds. It was like I wasn't even trying. It felt great.
It is 2012 and I'm back once again. I have had a right hip replaced May of 2011 and as of Jan 31, 2012 I well be getting the left hip replaced. I'm so excited the right went so good. Do to medication change so many times I have had a hard time with my weight loss. My daughter Keenya has moved out and on to the WSU of Pullman, Wa. She loves it there she struggles at times missing home and all. Mom is just a phone call away. My man Ken is doing great. He is a great support with my weight issues and all the other things us ladies go through.
2009 I'm a mother that needs to lose 100lbs. I would like to keep the weight off this time. So I want to get to know myself and love me for who I am. Exercising is not my most favorite thing. I like to hike. I have injuries that slow me down. A goal is to walk a mile on scenic grounds. I also like tennis. My goal is to play a whole game without quiting. 2012 I love the goals above but the don't sound realistic for 50 years old and two hip replacements soon. So lets start with walking the dog 3 times weekly. Just that for baby steps. May 31, 2012 My new goals 1. Stay under 100 calories on my snacks. 2. Weigh only once a month. See if this helps me when it comes to eating after I see the scale has gone down. 3. Work more on portion size by weighing and measuring my food. 4. Walk to the mail box 3 times a week.
2009 I'm walking on scenic grounds from the fishing area to walking my new puppy. I do a workout on my bed with different exercises. I have a hard time getting up off the floor so I do what works for me. I'm always looking for different exercises to try that I might enjoy. I also eat less starches and fats. I cut down the portion of food per meal and with my snacks. I have added more veggies and fruit to my menu. I look at the contents on the box before I buy the box foods.
Cutting sugar from my food plan is the hardest one for me. I'm getting better each month.
Look at me go. I've lost 39 pounds for the year 2008. The pounds keep going down. This is great.

2009: I am from Vancouver, WA. My name is Debbie. I have a daughter who is 15 1/2 years old. I am married also to a wonderful man. They both are helpful at encouraging me to exercise. They join me at times. We enjoy going fishing and picnicing at the parks and in the back yard.
I enjoy crafts of different kinds. One of my favorites is rubberstamping on many different things. I go to classes to learn new things. I meet new friends that way and that brings me joy.
I also like gardening. We have a small yard but it is full of flowers and with a garden of veggies for my salad. I enjoy meeting new people on-line.
1/12/2012: I'm having surgery on my left hip Jan. 31, 2012 and the my journey of a New Life Program starts again.
5/31/2012 I have a hard time after surgery on my left hip. I fell the day of surgery. I did something to my knee so the healing has taken much longer. I'm doing better now and am on the way to recovery. Walking much b
I have enjoyed reading different books. My favorite is mysterys. I like to watch detective shows on TV and movies also.
