09-02-2013 I've been SOOO busy... My oldest son got married, we went out of town for 3 days, and we had a family reunion at our house with about 30 people from my family. All this happened from one Saturday to the next!!
Anyway, here's my latest update... I have lost 50 pounds since February 25th and on August 26th I had routine labs done. Major results!!! Total Cholesterol (never below 185 when I was on prescription drugs for that) on January 25th it was 253 ~ now it's 178! HDL went from 95 to 71; LDL went from 144 to 99; Triglycerides went from 70 to 41; Glucose went from 89 to 87. My BMI has gone from 38 down to 29.9.
07-23-2013 Wow... time has flown by and the fat is melting off! So, I am 5 months into the Slim4Life program and have lost 44 pounds now! I have now lost 13.5 inches off my waist and several inches everywhere else as well, but that's the BIG one! The muffin-top is gone forever!!! In my profile pic, I was wearing a tank top under the sleeveless top so it actually is a little bunchy looking. I have gone from a snug size 18 down to a comfortable size 14 now. In all, I have lost 40.5 inches off the measured areas combined (chest, waist, hips, thighs and upper arms). Best of all... I feel healthier than I have EVER felt!!
04-02-2013 ~ It's been a month since I posted here. Slim4Life is the best thing that I have done for myself in a long time. I couldn't do it without the support of my awesome hubby though. I won't lie, it's not cheap keeping up with the supplements. However, they are much needed and we are spending less on groceries because all meats (fish, chicken, beef), veggies and fruits are fresh or fresh frozen. I have lost 15.2 pounds, more than 3 inches off my waist and my hips too. My body fat percentage has dropped almost 4% which means almost everything lost is FAT! I also have always retained water and that is almost normal. I feel GREAT!!!!!
03-02-2013 ~ Well, I took a big step after many prayers and answered ones at that. GOD put things in place, financially mostly, that afforded me the opportunity to join Slim4Life. I am on a 1 year program... 26 weeks of weight loss treatment (25 to go), 6 weeks of stabilization, and 20 weeks of maintenance. I start back at the gym on Tuesday next week, twice a week for an hour on the treadmill for now, then I'll move it up to three times a week in April. The first 3 days was hard, I won't lie... then I felt overwhelmed and thought I would be starving. The herbal supplements really help that a lot. I feel better after only a week, more energy, sleeping better, and I am finally losing!! So with that said... WINNING!!!
01-27-2013 ~ Having a biometric screening done at 8am tomorrow. I'll get instant results of glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol and others. I will be posting that tomorrow and we'll see where it goes from there. My work is having a "biggest loser" thing as well, network wide (over 3500 employees) but no telling how many signed up for that. I know I did!!
01-25-2013 I kept my focus this week, lost 1.2 pounds... it isn't what I hoped for but a loss is a loss, right? That's 2.8 pounds gone since January 7th. It's a slow start, but this was JUST by changing and tracking my food. The gym will double that. Happy Friday!!
01-22-2013 Well, last Friday was a let down but I have stayed on track this week, despite feeling sick all day Monday. I have my breakfast and lunch planned out for the next three days and lots of fresh fruit is included, already portioned out, and marked for me!! Raspberries, blackberries and grapes... YUMMMM. Weighing on Friday as scheduled. Monday, January 25th I start a wellness program with my job and get a free biometric screening too. Can't wait!
01-11-2013 Happy Friday!! I did it! I stayed focused this week and with JUST watching and tracking what I was eating I lost 1.6 pounds in 4 days!!! NOW I will start my Friday is weigh day.

01-07-2013 What the heck is wrong with me? I cannot stay motivated to save my life, literally!! I got so wrapped up in doing things to make everyone else happy during the holidays (not that they asked me to) that I just didn't think about me. Sooooo, here I go again, right back at square ONE!! Plus one pound! I am sooooo pissed off at myself.
Yesterday, October 1, 2012, I started working from home. My job has gone to the ever popular electronic medical record so there is no need for us to go to the office!! Yay!! The time I used to spend in traffic getting to and from work is now MY time. I made myself a promise that, the day I started working from home, I would go back to the gym and get on the treadmill. I almost didn't do it. BUT I DID, AND WALKED FOR A WHOLE HOUR at a 2.0 incline and 2.0 speed!! 2 miles slightly uphill, burned over 300 calories, not complaining. I was sweating my butt off, not fast enough, but still... Today it was so nice out that I went to the park down the road and walked the trail. It is only a mile, but it goes uphill and downhill and I did it in exactly 20 minutes. As for the picture to the left, I was going to change it but I'm not. I have to say I am proud of myself.
I am, or was on Friday, Sept 28th anyway, 6 pounds less than what I was in my BEFORE picture. On the upside, I have only gained ONE pound in 8 months!!
It could be depressing, and is a little, but it is my motivation. Also, by seeing this, I KNOW that I can do this!!! With God's grace, lots of prayers, and personal willpower, I WILL do this!!
I am very happily married to my best friend, and we are heading towards our 12th anniversary now. He's so supportive and I feel like I have let him down but he says I could never do that. I've let myself down though.
Tomorrow I will be 45 years old and I am fed up with this up and down business I've dealt with since I was 12 years old. I don't feel like I'm 45, I don't feel like I look 45 and I refuse to stay 45 pounds, or more, overweight. I do not like it when the doctor writes "obesity" on my chart and I see a BMI of 35+

Below is what I wrote last year when I got back on here after being away. I cannot believe I let myself slip back! So, now I had to buy a pair of size 16 misses slacks and I am SO not happy about that! Of the 40 pounds I lost in 2009, I have gained 25 back. Because of that my goal is 50 instead of 25. I'm not doing that again!!!
From May 2010---I'm back! Jumped off here for a while, thought I could handle the rest of the battle on my own... found out I was wrong! I did lose a couple more pounds, even maintained over the holidays! THEN, thought I was awesome enough to keep it going... but I went the wrong way on what was supposed to be a one-way road for me. I gained back about 7 pounds so I'm back on the wrong side of 200! grrrrrr
This is it! I REFUSE to go back. I'm still in a size 14-misses, down from a size 18-womens. However, my goal is still 2 more sizes away so I'm only 1/2 way after over a year. I'm mad at myself but I'll get over it, as soon as I see that 2 change to a 1 and know I'm going in the right direction.
So, now I'm gonna jump over to my tools and log my food for the last two days. Good thing I wrote it all down as I went!

I am happily married to my best friend, 2nd marriage for both of us and already together longer than with the other ones. Between us we have 5 kids, 4 boys and 1 girl ranging in age from 15 to 23. Now it's time to take care of ME!
My passion is photography, sometimes an obsession actually. One of my goals is to get a still shot, or close to it, of a hummingbird. I did get some of some butterflies a few years ago which was another goal. Also, my little ladybugs, have several shots of those (see my background).
Goals for 2013-
Drink at least 80 ounces of water EVERY day, as well as my 2 cups of coffee! I started January 7, logging my food and fitness again. Goals are:
~Stick with it this time!
~Consistently lose 1.5 to 2 pounds per week until I reach my goal weight of 160
~Increase activity by 30 minutes every other week.
LOG MY INTAKE and figure out what I need to change, add or subtract to get back on track.
NO MORE than 1300 calories per day.
Stay on meal plan.
Take all supplements as instructed.
Take vitamin daily.
Eat all required snacks.
I am married to my best friend, boyfriend, lover, teammate, partner, my 'Happily Ever After'. Between us we have 5 kids, all adults now. First grandbaby is due November 2013! We also have 2 fur babies, Rat Terrier/Dachsund mix, named Mork and Mindy.
