I havenot been here for awhile. The past year was one of pain. Finally had hip replacement surgery on 12/8/2011 I hope that I can move on and meet some of my goals:

Lose weight.
Live in the moment.
Enjoy every day.
Appreciate and enhance my overall health.

My Goals:
I would like to share with all who visit here my goal of improving the quality of the remaining years of my life. Be it 50 or 5, I hope to live them in the fitest state I can achieve.

I share this and invite you to make it one of yours as well

I want to lose this weight I have been carrying around with me for far too long.

I want to wear a dress I bought before I started to gain and never wore....

I want to be able to ride my bike up hill.

I want to be around to see electric or compressed air cars the norm on our roads.

My Program:
Walk at least 1 mile a day. Staying within my calorie range and tracking every thing I can that goes into my mouth. Drinking water! Using muscles I do not know I have.
Walking when I can.

Personal Information:
I am a transplant from Chicago to sunny southern California. God has blessed me with a husband I love and two children I love who are now grown and contributing members of society. I retired from teaching for a salary, but I think I will be a teacher until I die.

Other Information:
Crocheting, needlework,reading,
playing and walking my granddog are all favorite activities. Jane Austen is my favorite fiction writer, Shel Silverstein and ee.cummings are two of my favorite poets. I have discovered the writings of Fr. Thomas Keating. I enjoy his work a lot. I just found some delightful mysteries and am devouring them as fast as I can get my hands on them...they have recipes in them!

A 'Rut' is a terrible thing to be in.

Viv, I really did enjoy your blog today. I have been told I am pre-diabetic and have always wondered why carbs have been my downfall. "hovering over a loaf of bread" hit the nail right on the head.

Spark has an enhanced Nutrition for people with all types of Diabetes...Type I, Type II and Pre. I am using it, and have found it most helpful. If you have not been made aware of it, let me know.
