Hi there! Welcome to my SparkPage. I am a long-time (though sporadic) Spark member (over 6 years now). Spark helped me to shed 100 pounds... and though I've regained a little recently, I know that I have the tools I need to drop it again!

I'm working hard to become a fitter, healthier person. I'm focused on increasing my strength, stamina and abilities. The weight loss and size changes attendant to that are secondary in my eyes. I want to feel better, first; look better, second!

One of the things that I feel should be a part of everyone's journey is learning to love yourself, exactly as you are. You can desire to change (lose weight, get fit, be healthier or whatever!) and still love yourself. I think that may be the most important step on this journey!

My Goals:
Graduated weight loss goals:
-199 - in One-derland
-190 - no longer "obese"
-180 - down 100 lbs from my highest weight
-160 - final goal (for now, we'll see how I feel and where my body is comfortable when I get closer)

Fitness goals:
- Complete Runnin' of the Green 7K (March) DONE! 62 minutes
- Complete Rave Run 5K (April) DONE! 36 minutes (turns out the course was not a full 5K :( closer to 2.5 miles)
- Complete Biggest Loser Off-Road Challenge (May) DONE! 2+ hours
- Complete Insanity Run (June) UNABLE TO COMPLETE DUE TO ILLNESS :(
- Complete Color Run (June) DONE! ?? minutes
- Complete Firefly Run (July) DONE! ~39 minutes
- Complete Zombie Run (July) DONE! ~38 minutes
- Complete Color Me Rad (August) DONE! ~38 minutes
-Complete JDRF 5K (September) DONE 37:15

- Complete 3 months of boot camp (DONE!)

My Program:
I will be doing boot camp again in the new year and running as the weather permits. I'll also be doing yoga.

I keep an eye on websites like LivingSocial and GroupOn to find deals on different types of fitness classes as well.

Personal Information:
I have the great fortune of being able to chase my dreams with the love of my life and partner in crime, Steve. We moved to Denver over Thanksgiving weekend 2011 and have been settling in and enjoying our new city! I'm 33 years old, no kids. I work full time at a bank. I also have primary responsibility for maintaining our home. I love our life together!!!

Other Information:
My big weight loss downfall is my love of food! I love all kinds of food - Thai, Indian, Sushi, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Mexican, Greek... you name it, I love it!!

I also have a tendency to allow myself to get caught up in doing things with my friends and not making the gym and myself a priority. Finding that balance is something I'm working on right now.

    OUr run is also on the 20th of April. It shoudl be fun and it's a night race so we're looknig forward to it. You are an inspiration. I've added you. My lil one started rollig over yesterday!

    Yes, it is what we wait for when we start this journey and read about it with others who are travelling the same road and they tell us about "it". The Spark explained them well, they call them "tipping points". I didn't think I would find them. And it feels incredible when I realize just how differently I really do think about things these days. Without forcing it at all.

    I just wanted to add that I have been so very impressed with your involvement with the Denver Team and I so want to join in one of the "meet and greet" outings you have planned, it just really has been that there were other things I had committed to doing, and then there was the snow. I work for the City & County of Denver, Street Maintenance and when it snows I get to be at work to help get the streets cleaned up!
    I really want to meet some of the other Sparkers here, keep up the excellent work and keep planning them, I promise I will be there at some point!
