Fourteen years ago I was between a size 2 and a size 4 and weighed around 116, which was probably too thin, although you couldn't convince me of that at the time. For the first time in my life I felt great about my appearance. I had good energy and I slept well. I want to feel like that again.

My Goals:
To become healthier and to be happier with who I am. Another goal is to be able to get off of some of the daily mediacations I am on by improving my health and lowering my weight. One of my meds was also referred to as the "fat pill" and I can honestly say my weight started increasing, although I didn't change my routine, the first month I started taking it, 10 years ago. After a while I gave up. I need to get me back!!!!

My Program:
Eating Healthy
Exercise
Chiropractor

Personal Information:
I am originally from the North but finally made it to where I belong - the South 20 years ago, 15 of which I have been a legal secretary. High stress desk job. I am married with a teenage son and several pets. We are all very active in the community and are also parrotheads. I also belong to a mardi gras krewe and a bunko.

Other Information:
Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out. But I can usually shut the bitch up with cheese and crackers.

I love music, quite a wide spectrum but not too big on country. I adore Frank Sinatra and Jimmy Buffett; I've met the latter. I also listen to Led Zeppelin, Matchbox 20, Maroon 5, broadway soundtracks :). This past summer I saw in concert The Grassroots, Three Dog Night, Kansas, Steppenwolf, Starship, Atlanta Rhythm Section, & Marshall Tucker Band.

I love to read but can rarely find the time.

My family is big into pirates, but we live in an area that was a pirate sanctuary in the day.

I saw your post about the Homeopathic HCG, and the truth is it has NO HCG in it which is why it is Homeopathic. That is what Homeopathic is a placebo.

Hello ! I'm thrilled that you've joined us!! Warm welcomes to Overcoming Obstacles!" (A place where people share successes, personal stories, insight, motivation, jokes, recipes, common goals and LOVE) I can recommend reading some of the past posts, just to become familiar with who is who, etc. Then, maybe post an obstacle you're overcoming, or have overcome. There are quite a few different topics listed, like "jokes" or "motivation", "wheres' everyone from", "weigh in room" etc.... if you like, I hope you will come and introduce yourself in the "disabilities group forum" topic, and reply to any of the ones already created. There are many little challenges posted too, to give us a little "spark". The "disabilities group forum" is the main discussion area, even though many of the team doesn't have a disability, and some do, it is for everyone to congregate in, and know they are NOT alone.
{PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS IN TOO :o)}

There are challenges going on every week, some are on going, some are for a week, or a month..if you would like to create a challenge , please feel free to sparkmail me by Thursday, and I am able to add it to the list of challenges on my sparkpage :o) & to have a structured schedule for every week..

~ Challenges are now listed at the bottom of my sparkpage, to make it easier to find the challenges that may suit your needs~

I want you to know, too.. I was a councellor before I ended up in my wheelchair, and if you ever want to vent, or want insight in any way at all.. I hope you will feel free and confident to contact me at any time..... sparkmail is an awesome feature :o)

I created this forum out of love, and that's what you will find.." angels who carry one another to our goals."

I really look forward to reading your posts:o)

My prayer is this: Overcoming Obstacles becomes a meeting place for every sparkpeople.com member to congregate in. (, and if time or other groups are " an obstacle" then even if it's to come and say hello, or share a smile "O.O." should be that place!.)

Love, Prayers, and TICKLES,
CAROL.

You will do simply awesome!

WELCOME to Sparks and OO!

You’re about to make many a new friend!
All of whom are also turning their lives around and will be there to support, and
motivate! I wish you nothing but the best of success! So glad you have joined us!
1.If there was ever a time to dare, to make a difference, to embark on something worth doing, IT IS NOW. Not for any grand cause, necessarily...but for something that tugs at your heart, something that's your inspiration, something that's your dream.

You owe it to yourself to make your days here count. HAVE FUN. DIG DEEP. STRETCH. DREAM BIG. Know, though, that things worth doing seldom come easy. There will be good days. And there will be bad days. There will be times when you want to turn around, pack it up, and call it quits. Those times tell you that you are pushing yourself, that you are not afraid to learn by trying.

PERSIST. Because with an idea, determination, and the right tools, you can do great things. Let your instincts, your intellect, and your heart, guide you.

TRUST. Believe in the incredible power of the human mind. Of doing something that makes a difference. Of working hard. Of laughing and hoping. Of lazy afternoons. Of lasting friends. Of all the things that will cross your path this year.

The start of something new brings the hope of something great. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE There is only one you. And you will pass this way only once. Do it right.

1. Your presence is a present to the world
2. You're unique and one of a kind
3. Your life can be what you want it to be
4. Take the days just one at a time
5. Count your blessings, not your troubles
6. You'll make it through with whatever comes along
7. Within you are so many answers
8. Understand, have courage, be strong
9. Don't put limits on yourself
10. So many dreams are waiting to be realized
11. Decisions are too important to leave to chance
12. Reach for your peak, your goal, your prize
13. Nothing wastes more energy than worrying
14. The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets
15. Don't take things too seriously
16. Live a life of serenity
17. Not a life of regrets
18. Remember that a little love goes a long way
19. Remember that a lot goes for ever
20. Remember that friendship is a wise investment
21. Life's treasures are people together
22. Realize that it's never too late Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way
23. Have health, hope and happiness
24. Take the time to wish upon a star
And don't ever forget for even a day how very special you are.
