I really like my trainer workouts but that's because I have a great trainer. The free trainer I was given when I first joined the gym SUCKED!! This trainer has changed my mind about paying for sessions and I have been with him for over a year (he is the one that got me into running).
I usually run around my neighborhood on Monday and on the weekends and I try to get to Memorial park one day Friday - Sunday. I only run at the gym on Wednesday nights but I go to the Post Oak one for that. I am thinking about joining the Fort Bend Fit club to run with them and train for a half marathon - I never thought I would be able to run that far and now I can't wait to try!!
I usually don't get to the downtown gym on the weekends since I live in Sugar Land but I might try because those classes sound like fun and I need to get my but moving more on the weekends. Thanks for the advice :) 2861 days ago
Hmm...I need to work on thinking of it as a race against myself! I always get so pressured to be as fast as whoever I'm running with.
I can see why you quit the running group! 5am AND a long drive would do me in. Plus, if it isn't even your preferred form of exercise, why would you bother? I have found that I really enjoy running - just because nothing else makes me feel like I worked as hard. Imagine, I used to spend all year dreading the mile run back in junior high and high school.... 2876 days ago
I guess you could say I'm training for a race...I am waiting awhile to sign up though. Right now I feel so behind for my age range that I don't want to until I'm average!
You did a half-marathon!? That is so awesome! I'm waiting to see if I can survive a 5 or 10K and going from there. I think if you found a running buddy or asked around (and brought pepper spray) you could handle running outside in the big scary city. Or maybe there is even a running club in the area you could join?
