Hey all, I'm Sarah =)

I am now 24, with quite a bit that I need to lose. I've been overweight my entire life, but luckily I was never bullied because of it. I want to slim down and get healthy now, not only because it would be awesome to have a better body image, but also because I'm frightened of what medical problems may be lurking around the corner because of my obesity.

I'd like to find a fitness buddy that I can go walking/jogging with, and eventually build up to ...
Hey all, I'm Sarah =)

I am now 24, with quite a bit that I need to lose. I've been overweight my entire life, but luckily I was never bullied because of it. I want to slim down and get healthy now, not only because it would be awesome to have a better body image, but also because I'm frightened of what medical problems may be lurking around the corner because of my obesity.

I'd like to find a fitness buddy that I can go walking/jogging with, and eventually build up to running. I did the Flying Pig Half-Marathon in 2011, walking most of it, but since then, I've taken about 20 steps backwards. Right now, I can't even run a quarter mile all at once :P I live in Northern KY, so anyone near Cincinnati, let me know if you're interested!

About my interests outside of weightloss, I love Japan, anime, Jason Mraz, Tamora Pierce books, Harry Potter, reading, singing, Deathcab, Moulin Rouge, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Clerks 2, Star Wars and Trek, spring time, mentoring children, and purple, as well as tons of other things. My interests are all over the map, though I do admit, many dwell in the realms of the dork =P

My long-term weight goal is to eventually be down to 188 pounds, since that is the upper percentile of my acceptable body fat percentage. After that, we'll see where I want to go from there. Trying a meal plan for the first time to go along with my exercise routine.

I LOVE C25K! I started it last year and also done the first few weeks but I think I pushed myself too hard and fast and I ended up injured. Instead of just jogging, I was proper full on sprinting and I totally screwed up my ankles. So I've started over and I'm gonna take it easier.

So for that reason I'm finding it really easy now in comparison to last time. (Saying that, I was POURING with sweat after it, even though I didn't even feel like I'd had a workout!)

Hey girly! Thanks for the encouragement! As far as fitness I've been trying different videos from here. I don't have a whole lot of time at once n the gym is not going to happen with my schedule. The 10-minute beginner jumping is awesome n gets my heart up quick. I also do random circuits with my bands. I keep a set attached to the front door n every chance I get I do some flys or press with them. It sounds kinda silly but when I go to the bathroom I either do 10 squats or 10 jumping jacks. I figure every little bit helps. Eating socially is totally a pain so I feel you there. It's super hard to eat healthy when you're out n about but just try to shave calories wherever u can. Order a lunch portion or get a to go box n put half of the giant restaurant portion in it. I also try chewing everything longer n not take bites just because others are. If u sip water before n then between every bite it'll fill u up quicker too. Hope that helps! You can do it! Hang in there!

Thanks for the positive feedback! Last week was a rough week for me so my goal was just not to gain, which I didn't! yey! I actually lost .4 pounds. It's a new week though right?!

It looks like you are doing amazing! Keep up the good work! How has your weight loss journey been so far? emoticon
