New Beginning

I am a 47 year old mom who is always yo-yoing up and down. I have always gained back the weight after each previous loss. I want this time to be different. It's not just about how I look anymore it's about how I feel. Our health is a wonderful gift from God and to serve Him I need to take better care of my body.

My Goals:
To lose weight for better health and to prevent weight related diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Basically I want to LIVE!

My Program:
Cutting way back on my food intake and attempting to increase my activity. Not trying hard enough. Still need motivation. I have invested in a fitbit that tells me how many steps I take each day. I still haven't reached a goal of 10,000 per day;(


Personal Information:
I am from Berea, KY. I have a 20 year old daughter and a 15 year old son. I have a wonderful husband who is my best friend in the world. Thank you Jesus! I have my own cleaning service which consists of me! I need to literally lighten my load to be able to do my job the most efficiently. Will 2014 be the year? I think so. Time will tell!

We will be starting another 5% challenge shortly, Thought I'd check in to see if you might want to join. The team challenges are a really good way to stay accountable and the goal is very attainable...lose 5% of your body weight in 8 weeks. I have watched many people become successful this way and a lot of team members are maintaining! I got back to my 30 lb loss mark on the last challenge!

Doc put me on 1500 calories and (4) miles PER DAY...hopes to have me at my goal weight by Spring! Already lost 7.2 lbs in 10 days! Of course, I won't even feel like I am accomlishing anything until I get back down to the 30 lb loss mark I was at last year! emoticon emoticon

Hey Girl! I am starting to gain back the 20 lbs I lost! I gained 3.2 lbs in Kentucky...which really surprises me! Anyway, I was hoping that you might want to get back on Spark with me next week, starting Sunday? I am giving myself a few days to get my head wrapped around my program, stock the right foods etc. What do you think? I have a doctors appt on Tuesday and will be seeking some therapy for my emotional eating... emoticon

I think one of the most important pieces is just logging on here EVERYDAY! That will start some kind of consistency! Even if it is just spark points from the sparkwheel! emoticon emoticon
