Here it is almost a year later and well I've let myself get to my highest weight ever. BUT I am now doing something about it. For the last 3 weeks I have been making it a point to exercise and I've been logging it on Spark. I can only log on at work - no 'net at home. I have a nice walking loop I do in my neighborhood that is a nice 30 minute walk. On Sunday I actually walked for an entire hour. 10 minutes to the bike path, 20 minutes south, 20 minutes back and the 10 minutes back home. I felt empowered after that walk and it has lead me to walk everyday but one this week. I have also been use Walk Away the Pounds workouts, I did the 2 mile this morning (not sure if I'll get more exercise as this is my anniversary).
1. Exercise at least 3 days a week.
2. Journal everything I consume.
3. Be good to myself by exercising, journaling, getting in my water and remembering that I DON'T have to be perfect - I didn't put this weight on overnight and it won't come off overnight! Consistency will bring results.
My motto for this month is "Actions speak louder than words." Which translates to me getting off my couch and becoming the healthy lady I want to be.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
Good luck to everyone on your Spark journey.

It has to be quite a change to go from taking care of others as you did to working outside your home. It's great you're determined to take care of yourself now.
Home schooling my children was rewarding. They are very well rounded adults-so many have said so, even while they were teens. Sure, at times it was hard to home school, but I was determined. They were good at getting their work done too, so that was a big help! Our school system expected quarterly reports and they had to take the same end of the year (the main test) that the public school kids had to take, and they always scored fine- one of them scored way higher than fine. :) We also belonged to a home school group, and it had a Co-op where we would have various classes done by the parents. My daughter's favorite was an oil painting class. She still loves to do oil painting, and is really good at it.
Yes, I read that you have four kitties. I love kitties. I had five a few years ago. One I had grabbed one through the kitchen window (I'd placed cat food instead of birdseed out the window- it was deep snow so didn't go out to the bird feeder- and so she, on her own, came to eat it)- and turned out she had feline leukemia, so she stayed in our bedroom, to keep the other cats safe. She got throat cancer, and though we tried chemo, she just didn't do well -she was only with us about a year. Another kitty died of cancer (we had rescued him, and he'd had a hard life too, previously) about a year later. Two of the kitties moved when my daughter and her son-in-law got their own place. It's nice to get to go and visit them -and they have two other kitty companions there now as well. The fifth kitty, thankfully, we still have.
That's cool I reminded you about your pedometer. :)
It's been a very nice day, thank you. I hope yours has too!

Thank you so much for saying I rock:) Yours was the only comment on my blog from the other day, and I really appreciate that comment! :) I sure did get my exercise in over the long weekend! Looks like you and I are both about the same age and both gained our weight back and are getting it off again. We can do this!
