07/09/12 - Very good week...down 4.6 pounds.
07/02/12 - back...after 4 years off the wagon...new 10% goal after a blood test revealed possible pre-diabetes. Hope i can make it stick this time. Hit my heaviest 2 months ago after getting out of the hospital from having hernia surgery. Have lost 11.8 since then but I must do better. So here we go again...I need the support and structure of Sparkpeople. I know it works, I have done it before. So...NO MORE EXCUSES.
07/29/08 - still struggling, but I know it can be done and I am trying to get back on track.
05/23/08 - More than 11 months in now and really realizing how it has to be a lifestyle change. It's been hard for me to get back on track, but I know I have to because today, I am back up to 188.6 and that is unacceptable. I am restarting C25k.
04/16/08 - 10 months. Starting over today after getting thru tax season. Have put on 9.8 pounds the last two months, but that is behind me and it's time to move forward. Here we go. I am ready!
03/18/08 - 9 months...ha..coulda had a baby by now...lol. Well this past month has been a difficult one. Tax season has been the worst it's ever been as far as stress and time. Luckily, my new lifestyle has allowed me to maintain for the most part. I have gained a couple of pounds, but I know it would be much worse if not for SP. I am still wearing the pedo everyday and tracking my everyday walking, but just don't have a lot of time for any aerobic exercise. Needless to say, I can't wait for tax season to be over so I can get back to a normal routine and resume my journey to my goal weight...whatever that may be.
02/16/08 - 8 months-600 aerobic miles-ZERO soda-59 POUNDS GONE! Doing the happy dance here!
01/17/08 - 7 months of sparking! This site has really helped to change my life. 55 pounds gone!
01/01/08 - Happy New Year! Happy New Me! I reached the 500 aerobic mile mark. It took 6 1/2 months. I want to reach the 1000 mile mark by my first Sparkiversary of June 16, 2008. My SparkAmerica Goal is to avg. 50 mins a day of exercise, and reach my goal weight sometime this year, although I really don't know what that weight is. It will take an additional loss of 22 pounds to get to a "healthy" BMI score. That would put me at 159. Someone told me yesterday that I don't need to loose anymore...I still have a lot of tightening up to do to feel like I am there tho. Will just have to see how it goes and how I feel as time goes along. 54 pounds gone!
12/29/07 - 193 days, still sticking with my personal challenge to stay away from soda, and I have now walked 497 aerobic miles. Plateau still with me...have only lost 1.2 pounds in a month....but thats better than gaining especially this time of year. 53.6 total pounds gone!
11/27/07 - 162 days, no soda, 400 miles later....52.4 pounds gone. First time since high school that I am in size 12 jeans!.....I LOVE SP!
11/08/07 - 143 days, STILL no soda, up to 354 aerobic miles. Started a virtual walk to Wichita Kansas yesterday...that's only 976.5 miles..SparkPeople is such a great place to meet people and find wonderful motivation. I still haven't gotten my spark shirt that I won back on Aug 30. I emailed and I should have it soon...as soon as i get it, I will post a new pic. 51 pounds gone.
10/24/07 - 128 days, still no soda, and after a short vacation, I am back at it again and up to 326 aerobic miles. 50 pounds gone!
10/01/07 - 105 days, 0 sodas, and 299 aerobic miles (completed Couch to 5k this morning running 3 miles in 37:25! My first 5k race is this Sunday!) later.... 189 lbs! Total loss to date..46 pounds! For October, I want to continue the running, good eating and increase my strength training.
9/14/07 - 90 days, 0 sodas, 250 aerobic miles (starting week 7 of C25k today which is 2.5 miles running without stopping), gallons and gallons of water later.....193 pounds!!! That's a total of 42 pounds gone! Will post a new pic this weekend.
8/30/07 -75 days, 0 sodas, 230 miles (including C25k! working on week 5!), a new scale, a new pedometer, a SP shirt on the spark wheel this am (YAY!), and UNDER 200!!!!! 35.4 pounds GONE!
8/15/07-2 months in! 60 days, 0 sodas, 190 miles later (with even a little running; working on week 3 of c25k)...30 pounds gone! I have learned so much from spark and i have really been sticking to it...everything except the strength training...that's my next mini goal...to get it in for the rest of the month...i have to do it for me.
07/31/07-10% GONE!!!! 45 days, 0 sodas, 150 miles later...23.5 pounds gone!! On to the second 10%...that will be 21 pounds and that will put me under 200...190.5 here i come!
07/27/07 -whoo hooo...getting close...22 down...1.5 to go for that first big goal!
06/16/07 - Starting over....with a new goal ... gonna shoot for 10% .. 23.5 lbs.....let's see how that goes.
Get that horrid BMI # to a normal figure and keep it there for life.

Back to Basics:
Water, vitamins, no soda, less coffee, green tea everyday, scheduled exercise everday, stay in calorie range by planning and tracking food. Stay active on SP encouraging others and receiving encouragement in return.
This is a fool proof plan and I plan to stick to it!
Been in Castlewood Va for 26 years, before that Powhatan Va. Have a wonderful hubby of 25 years. Daughter 25 that married in June 07 and a Son 22. Had my first grandchild in August 11 and expecting 2nd one in January 2013.
I enjoy needle crafts and gardening. Have very little time for either but still love'm.
