Hi, I joined SP on Mon. Feb. 9, 2009. I live in Southern Maine. I turned 59 yrs. young this past April 13th. I am 4' 10 3/4" tall. I WAS at a whopping 182 lbs.

My husband is now giving me total support (after 25 yrs. of failed dieting, and his sabotaging my dieting willpower with his junkfood) He is now keeping "his" junkfood "out of sight", and is even doing all the cooking!! :o) Needless to say he missed his calling. He needs to open a "health" restaurant.

I set a goal to lose 67 lbs. After my Dr. scolded me, because my BP was sky high 150/90. She warned me of the threat of diabetes with possible amputations down the road, even blindness, heart disease and stroke; if I did not lose the weight. I do not want any of that to happen to me. So, I started the diet 'she' recommended, with great results; "The South Beach Diet".

I need to manage my stress. When I am stressed out, I go for the sweets. I have a slight case of seasonal depression also. I need to be more active during the winter months, and get as much sun as I can. Not feel like I want to hybernate.

I own a nice piece of exercise equipment, the "Total Gym 1700 Club". I need to get back to that, plus walk and do weight training. Get back to drinking the recommended amount of water and getting 8 hrs. of sleep. Leave off the sugar. Consume the 'good' fat and the 'good' carbs.

My friend Cheryl (pronounced Chairul in German) told me about this site. So, here I am. Thankyou Cheryl!! :o)

I will get alot of info. and support here. And, in conjunction with my Dr. recommended diet I feel I will succeed.

My Goals:
To weigh 110 lbs - 115lbs.

When I started w/SP, I had already lost 28 lbs. w/ The South Beach Diet "Lifestyle". I want to lose an additional 39 - 44 lbs. from 154 lbs. I want to be healthy. I want to tone and sculpt my body to be physically fit. And, look nice in pretty dresses or jeans. I want to eat right and enjoy the good wholesome foods I should have been eating all along, for the rest of my life. ~~Buh Bye Junk Food!!!!


My Program:
Cut out sugar. Watch my sodium intake. Eat more wholesome foods. Drink 64 fl. oz. water/day. Some kind of exercise every day. Get more sleep. Take time for myself. Read more to stimulate my brain. Do something fun every day. Manage my stress. Find my spiritual self. Build up my self esteem. Socialize. Get involved with my community. Do something nice for someone else everyday. *Volunteer and spend time with elderly people where I work. Spend time with my family and pets. :o)
