My name is KT ... I'm more than a number.

My name is KT. I've battled weight and food issues for the majority of life. In realty, I waged a battle against myself even before knew who I was. As a young child I looked to fill a hole deep in my heart and soul. As an adult my battle became a war and I generally lost that war against food. I was addicted. I lost the war and topped out at 325 pounds.

I took control of my life and health in 2002. I began to live healthier - mind, body and soul. I sought out a therapist that help me understand me. By 2007 I was 100 lbs. lighter. I should have been happy and filled with energy - I was not. I felt weighted down, angry, depressed. I was raging again but this time it was against the world. Even with countless hours in the gym and eating well my weight was creeping back. When I’d gain back 15 pounds and in tears daily from fatigue I was at my wits end. Sometimes in life you just have to ask for help and if one person doesn’t listen move on to the next ... someone will hear you! I did just that and I found Doc. Three years later I am, once again, on top. Countless tests revealed that I was in stage four of adrenal failure and my metabolism was badly damaged. In short, my body was tired of fighting and it was crying out for help. Instead of quitting or waging another war I stopped and listened. Now in 2011 I am again losing weight and continue treatment with Doc.

Who am I? I am ... A woman. A wife. A manager of time. A lover. A friend. I am not a number on a scale or a number on the tag of my clothing. I am ME in all my glory!

Life does not being when we achieve “skinny.” Life beings when we start living it. I live everyday. I live out loud. I have embraced life and all my curves.

I'm a work in progress and I'm fabulous!

"KT-NICHOLS-13 Trying to get motivated to log food intake again. Anyone have any words of inspiration they want to share? "
* Not sure how inspirational this is, but....I never log food.

I target a type of food that I'm not getting enough (or the right quality of) of and focus on that. After it's become a usual part of my diet, I'll move to another.

Full score tracking has worked when I needed a sobering eye-opener of how much I was eating. When I started knocking down my sugar intake. I would track for a few days to make sure that I was getting enough calories.

Long term though, I don't see the wholesale benefits.

I suggest a few days to build a profile of your eating and then make changes.

Hey Dirty Girl!!! You are going to absolutely LOVE the race! There were LOTS of walkers, and most of the time, it's walk/jog to the obstacle and then stand and wait, lol! LOTS of waiting! If you do ANY kind of exercise at all, you'll definitely be able to do ALL the obstacles. Lots of crawling and sloshing through mud. Climbing over bouncy houses and walls, but I know you won't have a problem. There were all kinds of woman there and some may have struggled a bit, but they were able to complete the obstacles. OMG I can't wait to hear about it! Oh yeah, because some of the woman I was with had injuries, we walked the whole thing. We still finished in about 90 minutes.

"If you care to share, let me know what your healthy carbs are."
* Yeah, when I win my SparkBlogger of the decade award in 7 years, that blog is definitely not going to be the one that got me there. I was really tired and did not put a lot of detail into it.

Healthy carbs. I try for 4 servings of good quality carbs each day including
- a potato or sweet potato.
- a serving of brown rice (or other unprocessed rice)
- whole wheat or brown rice pasta
- a whole-grain cereal
- either oats or multi-grain hot cereal.

Except for the cold cereal they are mostly sugar free.
