Living, learning and doing "IT" differently THIS time.

My name is KT. I've battled weight and food issues for the majority of life. In realty, I waged a battle against myself even before knew who I was. As a young child I looked to fill a hole deep in my heart and soul. As an adult my battle became a war and I generally lost that war against food. I was addicted. I lost the war and topped out at 325 pounds.

As a young child I looked to fill a hole deep in my heart and soul. As an adult my battle became a war and I generally lost that war against food. I was addicted. I lost the war and topped out at 325 pounds.

I took control of my life and health in 2002. I began to live healthier - mind, body and soul. I sought out a therapist that help me understand me. By 2007 I was 100 lbs. lighter. I should have been happy and filled with energy - I was not. I felt weighted down, angry, depressed. I was raging again but this time it was against the world. Even with countless hours in the gym and eating well my weight was creeping back. When I’d gain back 15 pounds and in tears daily from fatigue I was at my wits end. Sometimes in life you just have to ask for help and if one person doesn’t listen move on to the next ... someone will hear you! I did just that and I found Doc. Three years later I am, once again, on top. Countless tests revealed that I was in stage four of adrenal failure and my metabolism was badly damaged. In short, my body was tired of fighting and it was crying out for help. Instead of quitting or waging another war I stopped and listened. Now in 2011 I am again losing weight and continue treatment with Doc.

Who am I? I am ... A woman. A wife. A manager of time. A lover. A friend. I am not a number on a scale or a number on the tag of my clothing. I am ME in all my glory!

Life does not being when we achieve “skinny.” Life beings when we start living it. I live everyday. I live out loud. I have embraced life and all my curves.

I'm a work in progress and I'm fabulous!

Kitties are good practice for babies! DH and I got cats 3 years before having babies and it really helped us see the other's parenting style and work out some kinks before the twins came along. Getting a taste of the exhaustion and exhilaration beforehand is probably a good thing; just expect both to be a lot more intense with a two-legged baby. :)

My family is doing great! I'm loving being back at work part time and on a very early schedule; it's the perfect balance for me. Madelyn took to it right away, too, but Caitlin and DH needed a bit more time. They're in the swing now, though, and doing well.

The girls are 4 months today! That means new photos this weekend and a doctor's appointment on Monday. I'll post about both, I promise. The girls are doing great and I expect their check up to go well.

Tuff is such a cute name! Have you named the girl yet?

I know because DH and I still aren't getting enough sleep thanks to the wee ones! My schedule is a lot less flexible than his so last night he let me sleep (8 hours in 2 chunks) while he only got 2 3-hour chunks. This afternoon I'll take the girls to the plant nursery for garden plants while he naps. I'm pretty sure he hated me last night and I'm gonna hate him this afternoon, lol. I figure being up with a kitty and up with a baby have the same effect and therefore the same emotions.

What a great comment about long term weight loss! I am somewhat in the same boat. Those years long plateaus are killers if you are a numbers oriented person. It has become a survival skill to not sweat the numbers. So far my weight has flatlined for about 2 years with a little progress here and there... Not the epic losses I had when i first started 5 years ago.

Hey hon! We're all doing great. Adjusting to me working again is a bit tough for all of us but we're making it work. Madelyn is doing the best, lol, followed by me. I'm really grateful to have an intellectual challenge and a reason to get cleaned up and dressed nicely every day. Caitlin has been a fuss monster because she misses me and Pat is still figuring out how to handle the girls alone for a few hours in the morning. But everyone is healthy and getting enough sleep, so we'll figure it out. How are you?
