I am determined to be fabulous!!



This weight loss journey began when we buried my mom in May of 2007. I remember being angry with her for letting herself get so sick. All of her medical problems came from smoking, inactivity, not eating right resulting in stroke and heart disease. She was only 72 and already had suffered from poor health (she was in a wheelchair after having bi-pass and suffering a stroke etc.,) for about 3 or 4 years. Quite young IMO for such a poor quality of life. Then I took a hard look at myself. No, I didn't smoke but I didn't exercise, I ate like crap and I was a 5' 2" woman nearing 200 pounds! The picture of hypocrisy. I joined a gym and in January of 2008 really began to take care of myself, I didn't want to do the same thing to my children.

Fast forward to August of 2008, I've lost 30+ pounds and about 20" of FAT.

I look at my daughter, my son, my husband and I know in my heart that I am going to do whatever I can to get healthy so I can enjoy a long healthy life free of medical issues that are preventable.

My Goals:
To live forever!!

OK maybe not forever but for a very long time .... a long HEALTHY life!


My Program:
I go to the gym Mon - Fri at 6:00 a.m. and on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. At the very least 2x per week I will work with weights for about an hour. Every muscle group - 3 sets of 10 or 12 the maximum weight I can manage as well as squats etc., I do a short ab work out every day. 100 crunches (different variations) and lower ab lifts. 6 days a week I do cardio. 20 mins minimum on the days I work with weights and I try for 45 mins minimum on the other days.

I do not "diet" although I have found that when working out this much it keeps me from craving bad foods. I have almost NO desire for sweet foods at all.

I'm a 49 year old mom from New Jersey. I have 2 GREAT kids - an 19 year old daughter and a 20 year old son.
