10/22/12 - I'm almost a month into my changes and I'm almost 10lbs gone FOREVER. WooHoo! South Beach has been a winner for me in the past and I know that it is going to get me to my goal this time. I'm attempting to hold myself and not be unrealist. But, it's hard when I can see the finish line this time. I am determine to be at my goal with a few months of being able to stay at my goal by my birthday (May 2013). I will not continue to bring in new year's and birthday's with the resolution to lose weight, the work is going to already be done.


Well, not much weight has been lost since (05/25/10) starting spark people. I had lost a little over 25 pounds and gain them all back plus 3. But, I have change so much in other areas (no depression, unhealthy relationships). I trully believe that the other areas needed to be fixed before I could be successful at the weight lose. So here it goes, again.....................................

    You can totally do this! My first month, I eliminated all pop, chips, candy, fast food and junk snacks and retaught myself how to cook and prepare healthy meals and snacks. I was almost exactly where you are now - I was dealing with depression and my relationship had hit a really rough spot... and I was over 300 lbs!

    You're already doing the right things! If I have any advice, it's to start small. Start with just 20 minutes of exercise 4 times a week. Start by making it a goal to get 5 servings of fruits and/or veggies every day.

    Check out Leslie Sanstone's Walk Away the Pounds videos on YouTube. You don't need any special equipment, just walking shoes and a little space to move around in! I did Walk Away the Pounds a LOT when I first started out and I saw great results.
