Hi! My Name is Kris! I've been Sparking since Nov 08 and have had great success here, with wonderful support! I've learned to change my life and how I live it 90%...I say 90% cause I dont' believe we can change 100%, otherwise we would lose a piece of who we are to begin with! :)
I'm a firm believer that if you want it, truly want it then you will make it happen. You are the one who has to choose to do it, you are the one that has to get up and make it happen. No one else can make you and no one else controls what goes in your mouth. No more excuses, JUST DO IT!!!
Yes Life gets in the way, Yes it's hard, Yes there are no secrets, You must eat right, within range and put some activity into your daily life. It's the only way it will happen effectively and long term, and you can never quit...you must keep doing it everyday. Does that mean you can't eat a cookie? NO! Does that mean you can't have a slice of Pizza? NO!! But you can't eat the whole bag and you can't eat the whole pie and you can't do it everyday! Make healthy choices and enjoy yourself once and awhile....It's up to you, and only you to make it happen!
NOW GO OUT THERE AND DO IT!!! Cause let me tell you, LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER ON THE OTHER SIDE!!
To workout at least 4 to 5 days a week..
To stay off the scale except on weigh in Fridays...I don't want to keep watching it...
To keep reminding myself how far I've come and how good life is here...
Keep drinking that water...
To continue to make healthy food choices 80% of the time, without ever depriving myself of something I really want...
Avoid Fried Foods, White grains, refined sugars, minimize processed foods as much as possible....
Limit soda, no coffee after noon...
I eat Breakfast every morning...
I try to eat something small every 4 hours throughout the day...I go for fruit as a snack before anything else...it really helps control cravings...
I'm a Green Monster fan! Love them! I highly recommend them!
Drink water, water, water...
I prefer to cook as whole as I possibly can. I am constantly sneaking brown rice and whole wheat pasta into my families diet. I try hard to not use boxed foods, but there are times when we don't have much of a choice, it that happens, than I limit how much I eat.
I try to measure and weigh as much as I can of what I put in my mouth...I've gotten so good at this that I can almost guess how much something is by looking at it...
I try not to deprive myself of something when I want it...e
I am 36 years old, and have two kids, a wonderful man and great supportive true friends...my amazing friends all live far away but even through the distance they are still an active part of my life on a daily basis! I love them!
I started my journey when I moved to Tucson AZ in 2008, moving there completely changed my life. I'm now currently in Chesapeake VA and still living the lessons I've learned! One of my favorite Bob Harper Quotes, "There is no finish line, you have to live this way for the rest of your life!"
I love the ocean, it's my favorite place to be....
I enjoy reading books when I have the time to do so....
I love to learn new things and tend to get obsessive in learning everything I can about something new that interests me...

Hey doll! I just wanted to drop in and let you know it's me Paula, (NYYCHICA) with a new name. I just thought that after being on here for years and the new changes in my life that it's time for a new username. I also got word that for those of you that have subscribed to my daily blogs here may or may not receive them because of the name change, so please go on over to the blog and re-subscribe to them, especially my regular ladies who I love reading your comments on them. So just to be clear there's no more NYYCHICA, but GLAMRIZDIVA now, it does fit me so much more as a whole.
Also, might as well put in a plug for the Determined Divas team if you'd like to join let me know and I'll send out the invitation to you right away. We're getting ready to kick off our Summer Challenge on the 18th of this month. We're always looking for new divas to join in on our very active team.

Thank you for the support for everything. It was great to share with you right after the race yesterday. I knew that you would understand all the emotions and pride I felt. I can't wait to do my next one in July and get a lower time.
The hubby doesn't understand why I want to do another one, or why I feel I need to get a lower time. He says to me that it isn't a race to see who can finish first. I told him it isn't about finishing first, it's about doing the best that I can and I know I can do it better than what I did yeaterday. Ugh Men just don't understand everything. LOL
Are you planning on doing another one? I would like to get Sammy into running, I saw so many little kids out there, all I could think that it would have been great to have her there with me.
