I also really appreciate you posting on the team. I'd love to get people talking, but it always seems like nobody even bothers to check if there are any new posts. I mean come on... We even have people on the team who haven't introduced themselves! And we're only 10 people, so that's bad...

Zumba is basically dance aerobics. You can either take classes (lots of gyms offer Zumba classes in the US) or you can order dvds and do it at home.

We don't have many gyms that offer Zumba classes over here in Germany and a friend had bought one of the dvds. I borrowed it because I wanted to try it in the privacy of my own home.

I'm pretty clumsy, so even if a gym around here had offered the classes, I probably wouldn't have joined because I wanted to try it first.

It was fun and it made me sweat, but it was hard because I'm such a klutz. I couldn't always remember the routines or I would mess up, but that didn't matter because nobody saw it and I made sure to keep moving.

When I started the dvd, I chose to do the basic workout first, in which they show you all of the moves you need to know. At first they tell you what the move is called and perform it in its entirety, and then they break it up into small easy steps. That was good because I wouldn't have been able to follow the moves otherwise, but I was confused after a while because they kept adding more and more steps and it's not that easy for me to learn routines.

After i had learned the steps, I progressed to the workout section. You see several instructors/dancers on the screen and you dance to latin music. As I already mentioned before, I couldn't always follow all the steps because I didn't remember them, but I made sure to keep moving and just adapted the steps in a way so that i could do them.

I really had a lot of fun and the music kept me going, so I'll definitely do it again! I'd recommend giving it a try if you like dancing! :)
