A changing narrative
Life is a narrative--a story line full of twists and turns, heartaches and happiness. Characters enter and leave my story, the setting changes and the critical story line is sometimes ponderously slow, followed by a pace that leaves you gasping for air. In the end, it's my narrative. I'm the central character. I make choices. So, in this second half of my life, I keep my eye on 2 priorities: health for me and healthy relationships. It's a rather powerful feeling, really! ...

My Goals:
Summer goals: 1. Eat breakfast 5 days a week. 2. pop once a week or less. Try adding fruit & herbs to water. 3. strength training--find out what I can do to relieve stress as the incision heals 4. walk throughout radiation treatment
My Program:
1. healthy eating & grocery shopping--pay attention to those vegetables and drinking water 2. ask for help
Personal Information:
live in Wichita, KS --for 25 years now--with my husband who has a full time job and a political career as well. We have 3 grown children--a lawer in Tulsa, and a scientist (about to marry a music teacher) and printmaker (1 semester of school to go) in Kansas City. It seems we grew into a renaissance family. I have hypothyroidism--which makes eating well and exercising more important than ever before. And I have breast cancer. I'm looking forward to the day when I can say I am a survivor.
Other Information:
My favorite quotes: You ARE doing it! Look what you've become! --- TO BE HUMAN means living a life of ups and downs, experiencing the full range of emotions from great joy to great sorrow. To resist sorrow, pain, anxiety, and confusion is tantamount to refusing to be human, and we lose much rich experience and closeness to God when we refuse to be our full selves. - Sarah Parsons
