    Sorry it took so long to respond; I've been really sick (still am) and go back to the doctor's hopefully Monday plus my little man starts preschool this coming week so things have been crazy here. emoticon

    Honestly, I don't know what *it* was that made me finally stick to it. I've yo-yo dieted my entire life. I was super skinny in school until I graduated & a few yrs later got my first sit down /office job--- then the weight piled on and on and on...and thus my yo-yo dieting and exercise patterns.

    After I had my son I didn't go back to work- I'm a stay at home mom and honestly, after having him - something clicked and finally locked in- the weight was really super easy to lose- once it became habit it just melted off until I got about 10 pounds from goal- then I had to fight for every last ounce.

    To lose the weight tho', i did not follow any diet plan, did not count calories, did not exercise like a maniac (although I was running after a very active infant/toddler and burning tons of calories).

    I simply did what I advocate to anyone who asks:

    Diets don't work. I don't believe in dieting- because I lose interest and burn out quickly esp. when results stop.
    Diets may help you lose a little weight but then when you try to go back to normal life, most often you gain it back.
    I believe completely in a total lifestyle change which means - yes the weight will come off more slowly but you'll prob. keep it off.
    I believe there are no bad/ off limit foods. Everything in moderation. I don't keep anything off limits- it's 100% about portion control and moderation.
    If you do occassional overindulge, be prepared to make it up w/ extra workouts/activity and a lower cal day to offset the high day.
    Keep in mind, I'm also vegetarian, so for the most part I get alot of food for the calories too.

    I hope this helps. This is just what I did and not every plan is right for everyone. You have to find what works for you; but it's a good place to start :)
    You need to believe you are worth it and make the time to make you a priority- which is very hard for us mom's and wives/girlfriends/daughters/caregivers/etc - but we have to do it.
    It's up to us to make the change & get healthy for ourselves and our families. We don't want to end up cheating ourselves or our families out of many years we would have had by getting health problems which are many times preventable, right? :) You Can Do This!!
