Meds Ruined My Body. Time To Get It Back

Once upon a time there was a girl who suffered from Depression, Anxiety and Insomnia. Over time, the symptoms grew worse, and the girl began to develop Bipolar Disorder. She consulted a doctor in the hopes that he would give a medicine that would at least get her to sleep normally instead of once every two days. He put her on a medication called Seroquel.

She consulted a doctor in the hopes that he would give a medicine that would at least get her to sleep normally instead of once every two days. He put her on a medication called Seroquel.

For a while, it worked, but within the course of one year I gained 45 pounds. I consulted a doctor about the weight gain and he told me that Seroquel was well known for causing a rapid increase in weight gain. Most people find it almost impossible to shed that weight. I was devastated.

However, life went on, I went to college and everything seemed to be going my way...until I met my current boyfriend whom I love with all my heart. We have been dating for 7 months now, and I'm starting to feel incredibly self-conscious about my weight.

I wanted to lose that weight I gained due to the medications. I want to lose weight for a variety of reasons: 1) to become healthier in the hopes that I won't succumb to a heart attack early on in life 2) so I won't be considered obese (I'm borderline currently) and 3) to feel more confident about my weight, especially around my loved ones. I'm hoping I will be able to overcome the stigmas of mental illness, increase my self confidence, better my body, and haha, let me be 100% honest, be the woman I feel I can be for the people I love.
