I'm 53 years old have been with SparkPeople for nearly 2 years. I've learned over this time that I have more stamina than I ever thought possible to make so many healthy choices for myself. I've worked hard to raise my kids and now I want to focus on myself and getting healthy and strong.

They've been busy with sports and school events and I've found that it's been so hard to keep up with everything for them and live healthy. Now that they are older and no longer dependent on me I've put myself first more often. I wish that I would have done it when they were younger so we could have some memories of me exercising with them instead of watching them. It's never too late!

My Goals:
1. Lose 31 pounds - lost 21 so far

2. Drink 16 glasses of water daily upon recommendations of my chiropractor

3. Do cardio daily.

4. Strength Train 3 times per week.

5. Run a 5K by the end of October - DONE

6. 10-minute exercise challenge - DONE
a) at least 10 minutes daily
b) 2 of those days I will do at least 20 minutes
c) do an exercise video at least once a week
d) do for 4 full weeks

7. Continue the 10-minute daily exercise challenge and see how long I can keep the streak going - now at 557 days! WooHoo!

8. Log at least 350 miles in 2012 (note: logged 216.14 miles in 2011) DONE - did 653.78 miles!

9. Log at least 780 miles in 2013

10. Run a 5K July 8, 2012 with my daughter DONE

11. Complete the Spring into Shape Bootcamp challenge - DONE

12. Run a 10K in 2013 - scheduled for 4/20/13 - DONE

13. Train for a Half Marathon - run one in 2013 - th

Eating healthy.

Going Organic as much as my budget allows.

Getting my family to eat healthy also

Completed 30 days of 10-minute daily exercise challenge and will keep my streak going. I'm at 557 days!

My husband, Ed, and I have 3 kids, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
I work the 3rd shift as a pharmacist.
I love to read and find that it's hard to balance my love of reading with my need for exercise. Since I work the night shift I have had trouble fitting exercise into my life on the days that I have to work and life interferes.

I don't mind the add. 1 of my kids is in school full time, 1 is in kindergarten (half days) and the other stays at home with me. I also provide care in my home during the day for 1 other child right now (2 more will be joining us when their mom is off MAT leave), so I'd be watching 4 during the day.

It's busy for sure which is why I get up early for runs and try to squeeze everything else in at nap time. Getting naps synced up is really important. The ones who don't nap are set up with an activity so I can get the nap time workout in.

YOU get no sleep and still manage to train, that's incredible. emoticon
