I'm 78, work in my own studio "StudioEnigma" and plan on living till I'm 100. So I need to loose weight and improve my strength. I am also a post kidney transplant, of 13 years (Sept 30, 2004). On Nov. 1, 2011 I had back surgery. Before the surgery I was in considerable pain, had quit exercising because of the pain. On September 16, 2016 I had a total hip replacement and was in a lot of pain when I tried to walk. Again I quit exercising and gained some weight back on. I am now almost pain free, back is acting up again) and am trying to lose weight. I get short of breath with any exercise and walking short distances, but I think that if I continue to loose weight and try to build my stamina I will get less winded. I have not been on Spark People in almost 5 years, but I am back full force. :-)

My Goals:
1. to lose 4-5 pounds a month.
2. to have more fun and make more me time.
3. to get down to 138 and maintain it.
4. to build up my strength so I will not be a frail little old lady.


My Program:
I'm starting out slow on the exercises. Adding new ones and more time as I get stronger.
I'm wearing my Fitbit every where I go (even on date night). I started out at 2500 steps and some days I am up to 4000+ now.



Personal Information:
I have several cats and a wonderful little dog named Teddy.
I have 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandkids.
I am have almost finished remodeling my 83 year old house.


Other Information:
I am retired from working in a hospital for over 38 years
I'm an artist and work in many medias. Currently it is photography and making jewelry.

    I hope your situation improves too. Dealing with health problems makes dealing with everyday life twice as hard, but because of that we are twice as appreciative of the little things in life. I just finished my outside chores and sat to catch my breath, enjoying watching my chickens and looking at my fairy garden.
