I'm finally ready to lose weight the smart, healthy, and SLOW way after five years of constant dieting, battling an eating disorder, and simply hating my body.
Right now, I'm a little overwhelmed with all of the great resources here on Spark People, so I'm sorry if I don't reply to your e-mail or comment, but I very much appreciate all of the kind words and support you all have been offering! And when I finally do get the hang of SP, I promise that I would love to support all of you in your journey as well :)

Superficially? I want to reach the weight I am most comfortable at - 130.
Mentally? I want to learn to love exercise, end my emotional eating, stop purging, and be at a place where food no longer controls my life.
As of May 13, 2009, I'm just SparkStreakin'! Eventually, with (very, very) little steps, I hope to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

I'm a typical 20-something college student - always busy, pretty stressed out, but always optimistic for the better future I hope to help create.
I am trying to get into old hobbies I had (eating disorders tend to destroy your interests, relationships, and life in general), such as piano playing, reading, volunteering with animals, etc. Hopefully, with this healthy lifestyle change, I will rediscover some of my old passions.
I just changed my major again - magazine journalism with a minor in politics. I love politics, and am interested in investigative journalism.
