Losing....

My name is Kristen. When I married my husband, I was 100 pounds. Then, I quit smoking...resulting in a gain of about 20 pounds. Then, I learned to cook...add another 10 pounds.

I had my first daughter in 2008. I weighed 158 pounds when she was born, and quickly lost the majority of the weight. I started working out and got down to about 120. Then, I got pregnant with my second daughter. I was about 155 pounds when she was born in Oct. 2010. I had a difficult pregnancy and ...

I had my first daughter in 2008. I weighed 158 pounds when she was born, and quickly lost the majority of the weight. I started working out and got down to about 120. Then, I got pregnant with my second daughter. I was about 155 pounds when she was born in Oct. 2010. I had a difficult pregnancy and didn't work out, so getting back into the routine was very difficult. I was stuck at about 143 pounds.

Once I could go back to the gym (baby had to be 3 months for child care there), I started doing the Crossfit workout of the day. It was tough, but I started seeing results. I lost about 10 pounds in 2 months. Crossfit helped prepare me (kind of!) for P90X. I've only been doing it for a couple of weeks, but I really enjoy it--especially the Kenpo.

Honestly, I'm not so worried about how much I weigh. The results I'm looking for is the muscle tone. My husband went to Georgia for 3 months for training (Army) and when he got back, he could see a difference in my stomach and butt. I loved hearing it because it's hard for me to see the results when I look at myself everyday. Plus, I tend to carry all of my pregnancy in my belly. I'm short, so the girls had no where to go but out. So, not only do I battle the fat storage, I have to deal with the excess skin...and there's not really anything I can do about that. To top it off, I have polycystic ovaries, which means that I'm more likely to store my fat in my abdomen--and I do. Not in my legs. Not in my thighs. My stomach. Great...lucky me.

So now, I'm back at 158 and desperate to get my body back. Watching what I eat and working out. Hopefully I can succeed where I have failed before. I am pretty determined. And the dollar in my jar for each workout lets me see that I am working even when I don't see physical results.

LOL Shows how often I update this. We left Schofield in 2009. Did 3 years at Ft. Lewis and are now at Ft. Stewart. :)

Welcome to the 30 somethings team! If you are interested in a team challenge I like the monthly 5 lb challenge. I saw in your profile that you live in Hawaii. I used to live on Oahu in Pearl City, and I taught on Schofield Barracks. Aloha! emoticon emoticon
