I am 65 years old, married for 43 years, have three grown daughters, and two young granddaughters. I live in Illinois and am retired from a 20-year job as an activities assistant on an Alzheimers' unit in a nursing home.
After retirement I decided to "broaden my horizons" by expanding my activities. I joined a knitting class, volunteered in a kindergarten class, and caught up on my reading. One of the ladies in my knitting group "sparked" me with informatin about this program...and here I am!
Thank you for the thoughtful comments on my "Opinions" blog and for being so honest. Maybe the longer we live, the more we learn and the more opinions we have. I still think I have to cut it in half, at least. I really understand your story about people at work not speaking up.
Thanks for the goodie and photo comment, much appreciated.
He's a little smasher and the first boy for twelve years, the other inbetween grandkids are girls. I had him a few hours to myself while his mam had a hospital checkup, bit nerve wracking at first but he stayed awake quite a lot which put my mind at rest...at least I could see he was breathing ...lol!
My knee has settled down a bit, it's a more managable pain now. I'm walking better, still slow but not limping so much. I've an appointment for an MRI scan on 31st so not too long now.
