I am 65 years old, married for 43 years, have three grown daughters, and two young granddaughters. I live in Illinois and am retired from a 20-year job as an activities assistant on an Alzheimers' unit in a nursing home.
After retirement I decided to "broaden my horizons" by expanding my activities. I joined a knitting class, volunteered in a kindergarten class, and caught up on my reading. One of the ladies in my knitting group "sparked" me with informatin about this program...and here I am!
Nan, have you had your hugs today? Consider yourself hugged! Thank you for enriching my life and being a part of my journey. Sending lots of hugs from me to you! Have a blessed weekend!
"Hugging has no unpleasant side effects and is all natural. There are no batteries to replace, it's inflation-proof and non-fattening with no monthly payments. It's non-taxable, non-polluting, and is, of course, fully refundable." ~Author Unknown

Thanks so much for the running shoes! I found out a few weeks ago my blood sugars are to high. I'd been on the boarder a long time. I don't ever want to have to take insulin like my DH. So, I have to lose weight and exercise. I have been going to the gym 7 days a week. I go to Planet Fitness and really like it. I go for an hour or more a day. It's a lot, it's a big commitment, but the alternative is what I do not want more. Hope you have a really great weekend. I'm glad you are doing better now. It is so hard to get back on track, but after a few days it is much easier.
Loved the tent. Will be sleeping in one in two more weeks. I help my sister with her local Girl Scout camp week in Indiana. Usually I work in the kitchen getting food tubs ready as all meals are prepared by the girls/leaders over open fires. I also help with crafts and field trips. Each unit puts up their own tent and sleeps out the entire week.
With 35-45 girls, not sure this is the relaxation you were looking for but certainly is loads of fun.
