From FAT and depressed to healthy and beautiful.

I was healthy and fit up until I moved to United States in 1999. Weight started piling up within few months even though I was very active. In 1 year I gained 50lbs and started my journey of trying to lose it. 50lbs turned into 60, 80, etc. For 12 years I struggled with weight, mostly going from 200-220lbs. In July 2010 my hormones went all crazy and I started bleeding. Doctors chose to give me more hormones to balance me out and stop the bleeding. It didn't stop for 6 month. It got so bad ...

It got so bad that I would get out of bed for 1 hour and would have to go back and take a nap, be up for 1-2hrs and take another nap. Sleeping over 16hours a day. Once bleeding stopped and I was able to get back on my fit I realized that in 6 months I gained nearly 80lbs. Devastated and depressed, it took me few months to get myself together and start doing something about it. In March 2011 I went 99% Raw overnight and haven't looked back yet.
My starting weight was around 285lbs and by the time I've created this profile I got down to 265lbs. I have a long way to go to a healthy me, but it's a journey I am gladly taking for me, for my health and for my future.

You should totally start fruitlucks. The guy who organized it created a local facebook page. He saw me on 30bananas and invited me to join, which I did. There are a lot of fruitnicks out there. It feels really good to have a fruit community. I learned a lot from them. You also know a lot and people who are just getting started totally need support.

Hello, I just read you little blogs on the juicefeast page and wanted to let you know you are an inspiration for me. You did so well on the feast and gave a lot of great information. I will be reading your blogs on your page soon. I just recently watched "fat, sick, and nearly dead" and realized that they left out so much information. I'm luck because I'm naturally inquisitive but also in nursing school so I knew there were certain things missing from the documentary so I have been doing a crap load of research to figure it all out. Anyways, thanks for you story and I look forward to my own journey!

Thank you so much for your advice on my latest blog - I'll definitely choose the mango NOW but I wouldn't have beforehand. I'm glad I'm changing for the better.
Have a lovely evening!
Nan
