Growing up, I never really had a problem with weight. I played sports and even earned a volleyball scholarship at an NCAA Division 1 school after high school. I ate (a lot) of junk food with little consequence.

After graduation it was a whole new ball game. After getting married to my high school sweetheart, I landed a public relations job that required me to sit on my butt in front of a computer for most of the day. The pounds crept up slowly and before I knew it, I had gained ...

After graduation it was a whole new ball game. After getting married to my high school sweetheart, I landed a public relations job that required me to sit on my butt in front of a computer for most of the day. The pounds crept up slowly and before I knew it, I had gained 40 pounds in three years! Oy!

I tried Weight Watchers, but found myself obsessing over point values and was always hungry. I tried the Miami "Cookie Diet" and lost 25 pounds, only to gain it all back +10 when I started eating real food again. After a some searching, I found SparkPeople.

I know these 40 pounds didn't come on overnight - so itís not going to disappear overnight. Tracking my calories is going to be very important to my future success. I am looking forward to the journey though!

My Goals:
I want to start my own business - a women's only Bootcamp. I can't coach others about losing weight and getting fit until I do so myself!

My Program:
I am working on tracking my calories everyday (between 1400-1700 is my goal).

I am also training for my first 1/2 marathon!

I am 26 and recently moved to Austin, TX from Miami, FL. I have been happily married for 4 years and have one really fat cat named Smudge Pretty (aka "Muffin" aka "Meatloaf").

Thank you for the nice note on my sparkpage! You're right...our stories are similar. And right now we're about at the same weight with the same to go. We can do this!

I should update my page because I'm signed up for 2 local 5ks...I have one at the end of April and one at the end of May. I've been doing tons of running and I'm ready for them. You're so lucky your husband will run with you. That's one thing mine won't do.
