2014 will be the best

My name is Teresa, I'm sort of married to David (we got married in 84, divorced in 93 and we've been back together since 1997 without the paperwork) lol. I've got 2 grown children, a son-in-law and a 6 year old grandson. I've been a member of Sparkpeople off and on since 2006.

In August of 2013 I turned 50 years old. The scale in the corner of the bathroom had been glaring at me for over a year and when I finally stepped on it, it laughed and laughed. I was at my highest weight ever. 207 lbs on a 5' body is not good. I made a decision that day to change. I'm a work in progress, but I've lost 30 lbs so far.

Let me back up a minute, in 2009 I opened a yarn shop. It was so much fun, I met a ton of great people, started dying my own line of yarn. But it was a lot of hard work, 6-7 days a week, 10 hour days, missing out on so much of my family and friends. I made a huge decision to shut down the business and on March 20, 2014 I closed the doors. A huge weight and relief has been lifted off my shoulders. Before you panic, I haven't given up my love of knitting, just taking a short break.

I spend probably too much time on facebook. If you have a facebook account, look me up https://www.facebook.com/teresa.copelandha

That sounds like an excellent idea. Good grief by the time I lose 60 lbs I'll have a blanket big enough to cover a king size bed.

Ok, I am going to make 4x4 blocks for each pound lost. When I reach my goal I will have a blanket of achievement. what do you think? Do you want to do this with me?

My Dear Precious Teresa: Thank you for your generous words -- but really, if I can do it, YOU can do it!!I know when Teresa puts her mind to something, she gets it done .. no foolin' around. And when you say that you are going to look great in 2008, I believe that; and, as a woman of her word, you are going to do just that!! I am proud of YOU for making the commitment to YOU. It is the only way -- and it starts right here and now-- with the very first step, the very first bite ..Each day gets easier... And then you'll want to make great choices for yourSelf to **honor** you.. I promise, this is how it works. There are no secrets -- no magic potions, pills, diets -- (sorry to Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, etc. -- cuz I did all of that, too!). While it is important to do a diet plan that is healthy and one that you can commit to, it will take **you** honoring YOU to get you to goal. Set yourself up to win -- you can do it!!!!!!!!!! And no kidding -- with your beautiful face and eyes, you'll look way better than me!!

You are doing a great job. I can't believe she said something like that. OH MY GOSH! People really have balls don't they. Hey if you don't go to the party - you don't have to buy a gift. Take that money and go buy yourself something.

1st congratulations on your loss. I was reading your response to another poster about what your friend said to you and I just wanted to say, great response. That was an awful thing to say to someone, like we don't like going out because of our size. It makes me wonder how she really feels about you as a person.
