Rewarding Myself - a day at a time

I've had an on again off again relationship with trying to live healthy. I'd lost weight by eating healthy and exercising several years ago, but I realized I was only halfway to being healthy. I needed to quit smoking to truly be healthy. So I did it - with the help of Wellbutrin AND Chantix.

I've had an on again off again relationship with trying to live healthy. I'd lost weight by eating healthy and exercising several years ago, but I realized I was only halfway to being healthy. I needed to quit smoking to truly be healthy. So I did it - with the help of Wellbutrin AND Chantix.

In my previous battles I was also diagnosed with a Binge Eating Disorder along with Anxiety and Depression. I've been managing those, but somehow in the last few years I've put ALL the weight back on.

August 2009 I met someone who makes me happy and together we're adopting healthy habits. She's helping me be the person I want to be! How awesome is that?!

But that's not ALL.... In 2009 to 2011, while working fulle time, I completed the Nursing Program at a local community college. It was an evening program, that amounted to me not having enough time to breathe, let alone grocery shop and prep meals! So I lived (mostly) on fast food! EWWWWWWWW.... you know it's bad when you go from *literally* throwing up because fast food tastes so gross, to craving it daily. It was a poor choice, but I felt I had to do it to make it through school.

B y the time I graduated in May, I felt disgusting and like I was wearing someone else's body. That wasn't and still isn't me!

I've accomplished so much in the last 3 years. Quitting smoking, buying a house, maintaining a WONDERFUL relationship, graduating college, and moving up into management at work. I might not be healthy (yet!), but I am certainly HAPPY. Now it's time to take care of my health again. It's time to reward myself for all that I've accomplished! It's NOT time to punish myself!

A diet is punishment. Eating healthy is a reward. And I'm all about giving myself the best rewards possible!
