Each day is a new day and each day I will be striving to be the best version of myself that Our Lord intended me to become.

The challenge life presents to each of us is to become truly ourselves – not the self we have imagined or fantasized about, not the self that our friends want us to be, not the self our ego would have us be, but the self God has ordained us to be from before we were in our mother’s womb. My Goals:
New Goal for 2017: Losing the excess weight to take pressure off of my poor knees, along with becoming the best version of myself emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

Finding out for every ten pounds overweight generates thirty to sixty pounds more force on my knees, I will be celebrating each ten pounds lost of weight.

Past Goal: I am setting small goals so I don't become frustrated or disappointed. My hope is to lose at least 2 lbs each month and to stay with Sparkpeople through my weight loss journey.

My Program:
My program consists of eating balanced meals each day and getting an hour of cardio in each day along with drinking more water. I also do lower body strengthening exercise every day.

Personal Information:
I am a retired school teacher from Nebraska who enjoys her family an time with my six grandchildren. I have many hobbies, including gardening, reading, golf, ancestor research, family historian (digitizing old photos and video's of our family into books and backup for other family members), and arts and crafts.

Other Information:
I believe my faith is one of my stronger qualities.

One of my favorite songs is by Richie McDonald, "Faith"
Here are the key lyrics:

Faith gives you hope hope gives you strength,

Strength gives you courage to go on each day,

When you're praying for answers to things you can't change,

When it's out of your hands you hold on to faith.

The footpod is only operative when my Forerunner 910XT is in running mode, so if I don't start the watch, no step recording (I use Fitbit for that). There is a process to calibrate the foot pod to the GPS distance, so it figures out your stride length. It then uses this to estimate your distance when you run indoors and don't have the GPS. Watch still has to be actively tracking your activity, though. It supposedly gets better after calibration, and I haven't done that yet.

I appreciate the comment on my page, thanking me for visiting your blog about the cardinal.
Sending hugs for your losses, especially your precious son.
As I mentioned, the Cardinal is special comfort for my son, but there are other birds for family members, each with unique personalities.
The Eastern Towhee is my father, Brown Thrasher my grandfather, etc.
Nature is a great comforter in general and a connector between Heaven and Earth.
May God Bless you and your family.
