Hello! I'm Kim. I'm 45 and happily married for 21 years to a wonderful man named Brian. We have no children (by choice). I started my most recent weight loss journey at 336 pounds, and I lost 36 of them before starting SparkPeople. I've struggled with my weight all of my life, and until recently I had been unable to stay motivated long enough to get the weight off. I started my most recent weight loss journey at 336 pounds, and I lost 36 of them before starting SparkPeople. I've struggled with my weight all of my life, and until recently I had been unable to stay motivated long enough to get the weight off. I went back to school and graduated in June of 2013 with a degree in HR Management, and going back to school dramatically raised my self-esteem, so I have renewed determination to pursue a healthy lifestyle which will of course result in weight loss. Now if I could only find a job!!

My Goals:
I want to do my first marathon by June 30, 2016.

I want to land an HR-related job which pays at least $40K by January 1, 2015.

I want to be a size 8 by January 1, 2016.

My Program:
I'm not on a rigid food plan, per se; it's just that I am making a conscious effort to choose healthier foods. Also, I have increased my activity level greatly. I started with a walking program, and I walked my first 5K 10/2/2011 and have done several other races (including one half-marathon) since then. I have slowly worked up toward jogging. To further motivate myself to keep going with my exercise routines, I keep signing up for races.

Personal Information:
Most of my pertinent personal info was listed in the introduction, but I can add that I am originally from Shillington, PA, and I now live in Allentown, PA. Although I have a full-time temp job and a part-time job, I am seeking full-time employment in an entry-level HR position, preferably in recruiting, diversity, or training.

Other Information:
I have lots of interests and hobbies: walking, bowling, playing tennis, going to museums, playing board games or card games, participating in discussion groups, going to the movies, going to see local rock bands, going to zoos, going to aquariums, exploring different restaurants, attending wine-tasting events, going to festivals/carnivals/fairs, going to see comedians...the list is almost endless, but I'll stop here. :-) Of course, doing all of these things is only possible when my budget permits. I'm sure most of you know how that is.

Some of my favorite quotes are "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." (Unknown) and "It's not that some people have willpower, and some don't; it's that some people are ready to change, and others are not." (Unknown)

Another great quote for the holidays comes from a poem by Leslie Nease: "And you'll hear me exclaim as I jog out of sight, 'Merry Christmas to all - may your clothes not be tight!' "
