The Journey Begins
I lost nearly 40 pounds by the end of 2003 (see 3rd picture). I was able to keep the weight off for nearly 2 years. Then things got very stressful around my house and I regained almost all of the weight. Now my blood pressure and cholestrol have begun to rise and I need to take the weight off again. I have begun exercising daily and will again begin to watch what I eat and count my daily calories. My pictures show some of my favorite things. 1st My Garden. I spent many, many hours ...

I have begun exercising daily and will again begin to watch what I eat and count my daily calories. My pictures show some of my favorite things. 1st My Garden. I spent many, many hours getting ready for our Garden Tour in July. It was a wonderful experience. 2nd, My Hummers. I have loved hummingbirds for as long as I can remember. This year I hung a feeder for the first time in years. (My cat always chased them off when I tried before.) I was thrilled the first evening when one little guy actually buzzed my head when I was weeding around the feeder. 3rd, I love to travel. There are some pictures in my gallery of some of our trips. This past summer we took a bus trip through South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana. Wonderful trip. When we travel alone we almost always stay at a bed and breakfast. 4th, I love to crochet! There are some afghan pictures in my gallery as well. And at the very top of my list of favorite things are my 3 grandchildren. They live right around the corner from us and I love them all to pieces and spoil them rotten when mommy isn't around! Isn't that what grandmothers are for? My Goals:
Lose 33 pounds to reach my target weight. Exercise every day. Have a better report on my Blood Pressure and Cholesterol at next doctor's appointment.
My Program:
I have begun an aqua aerobics class on Wednesday and Saturday. Purchased a new treadmill and have begun using it daily. Began keeping record of what I eat daily.
Personal Information:
I live in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country in a very small, very historical town. I am married, have 2 grown children (boy and girl) and 3 wonderful grandchildren (2 boys and 1 girl). They truly are the light of my life.
Other Information:
I love to bike. My husband and I have biked all of the Rails to Trails in our area as well as others throughout the state and country. My favorite trail of all is the Allegheny Highlands Trail in Western PA. My dream is to one day ride that trail in its entirety from Pittsburgh to Alexandria, VA. My other two loves are traveling and taking pictures. Up there with the top three is also bowling. We bowl on a Church League Monday nights and have a great time.
