A wake up call!

So, this is my 3rd time around with SP. But it is my most successful. Finally, I've decided to change my lifestyle to a healthy lifestyle instead of dieting. People ask me all the time if I'm dieting and I tell them,"No." I'm eating healthier and exercising for the first time in my life.

By admitting this, it has made a big difference. There are no forbidden foods, therefore, I don't feel the need to sneak any foods. Also, I have set goals and rewards for each goal, and put them in print! This gives me something to look forward to. ( I can't think of a reward for 80 pounds. Can anyone help? I figure it will be around December.)

I love SP! I hope you're all having as much fun as I am with it. Bless you all.

Hi there, Karen! Sorry I've been MIA for so long, but I went back to work and I'm having trouble keeping up with all my emails as well as my groups, so I've had to let SparkPeople slide for a while. I'm still going to Weight Watchers , but my weight has been fluctuating and I really need to develop a routine. They feed us lunch at work, but it's all high carb junk and I'm putting on weight even though I eat so little because of my gastric sleeve surgery. I've got to turn things around before I get in real trouble. Thank you for taking the time to write and let me know you were thinking of me. That is so sweet of you. I miss you too and I miss the groups and talking online to people. I also have a new boyfriend that is taking up what spare time I do have. He is a real gem and he actually saved my life 2 weeks ago. I was getting ready to do the walk before Portland's Grand Floral Parade and I was feeling dizzy and lightheaded. I had taken extra pain medication for the walk because I knew I'd be hurting after the walk and evidently it reacted with the blood pressure pill they have me on for migraines. It dropped my heartrate down into the 30's and my blood pressure bottomed out as well as my blood sugar because I hadn't eaten. I fell on the bridge and hit my arm and twisted my ankle. The medics pulled me out of the parade and called for my mom to come pick me up. She couldn't get through the parade traffic so they called an ambulance and that's when we found out I was in trouble. We were in a bad part of town and my boyfriend protected me and rode with me in the ambulance to the hospital. I couldn't even tell you my name. To make a long story short, they put me in ICU and gave me NarCan and kept me overnight. It was scary. I still have bumps and bruises. They took me off the blood pressure medication and sent me back to my regular doctor who chewed me out for taking more pain medicine than my contract allows. I felt like I was back in the principal's office again. I learned my lesson and will NEVER do that again!!
Sorry this is so long. Are you sorry you wrote me now?? LOL I hope you'll forgive me and I promise I'll keep it shorter next time. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for checking up on me. It means a lot to me that you care! Hugs, Lauri

I loved your suggestion about the snack size baggies. I never thought about what a huge difference that could make. Thank you!

Mo's restaurant is usually good. Going towards Malone it's on rte
11 on the left past Walmart. On the right in the plaza with Aldi is kings Wok Chinese buffet. Right in town, hmm how to describe it-again on right -before the fairgrounds, is sansones. Then across from the fairgrounds is Hoslers. East of the fairgrounds on the left is Donovan's, but I don't know if they serve lunch. They are pricey though.

That's about it in town!!
