I don't know much but walking got me started. I had a walking tape durring the rainy season and I found people I could walk with and I could only do around the block once. I walk 20 minutes every day now and have done a 5 k.... i normally walk 3 to 4 miles in an hour depending on who I am walking with and weather I am feeling ok.. It is so simple, but it is working for me.. Of course I also am doing Ti chi chia for seniors and water aerobics and I have tried group strength training and yoga.... I don't like yoga. Hope you find the things you really like. 1295 days ago
We are planning our first Arizona Spark Rally (get together)! We're in the early planning stages, looking for those who are interested so we can estimate the # of attendees. From that, we can size, find, and reserve the location.
If you want to find an exercise buddy or convince your best friend to join SparkPeople with you; if you want to laugh with your on-line friends and make new ones, this is your chance.
Date: Saturday, April 14th Invited: Family friendly - bring the kids! Venue: Central Phoenix valley area park where we can get to know each other, do a little walking/hiking and let the kids play
If you are interested, please respond via SparkMail or within one of the team threads below with a guesstimate of the # of people in your party (party! I like parties!). Follow the threads for regular updates; later, you'll get a SparkMail asking for a firm commitment .
Are you still sparking? Come on over to the West Valley Team. I am sure some live close enough to you to meet for walks when the weather gets a little cooler. We are meeting in Goodyear for a swap meet next Sunday. Come and join us! 1967 days ago
If you haven't figured out how to "complete" your training program, look in My Fitness where you record what you do for cardio. Mine has a 5K Your Way Training Plan that I can click on (Under Mileage Tracking) It takes me to my training plan. Click Go To Program. At the top it should have a tab to claim your trophy. Hopefully this helps you!
