My husband, Jim, and I have just started our lifestyle change together. I am really excited about this. Between us, we plan to lose about 80 pounds! My plan is to be back to the size I was when we first got married 34 years ago. It will take work and commitment, but we are determined not to fail. Together we can do anything!
My goals are to lose 30 more pounds by my birthday on June 18, 2008. My desire and my motivation is to be fit and healthy, to be around for my grandchildren, to have better self esteem, look better, feel better, and be in much smaller clothes.
I am simply eating the right foods in the proper portions, including whole grains, fruits and vegetables, white meat and fish. I will do at least 30 minutes of cardio every day, preferrably 20 minutes each twice a day, 60 minutes of strength training 3 times a week, listening to motivational tapes and visualizing myself doing all the things I need to do to be at my goal weight several times a day. It is happening slowly, but surely.
My name is Kathy. I live in Forest Hills on the east side of Pittsburgh, PA. I have been married for 34 years and have 3 grown children, 2 daughters and a son, as well as a son-in-law and a 7 year old grandson. My husband and I moved to Pittsburgh from MA 5 years ago due to my husband's job transfer. Both daughters, son-in-law and our grandson now live here, as well.
My husband and I went to a hypnotherapist on 1/24/08 to help us with our goals of losing weight. Listening to tapes every day keeps us motivated. This really does work! Neither of us has had any desire for anything bad and I find that I no longer hate exercising. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Now I love it and can't wait to do more. It's exciting!

My scales are being stubborn, but I've really reshaped my body. I'm actually starting to like exercise. Rode my 10 speed bike 6 miles yesterday. Didn't hurt my legs at all, but my butt hurts today. Need to get a softer seat. LOL

Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow & thanks for the valentine goodie. My husband said the other day, "I guess you don't want chocolate for Valentine's Day." I said, "Oh, I ALWAYS want chocolate but dn't get me any!"
